Default How much power and how fast...?

Posted this in the wrong section so I am reposting this:

"Does a 4th gen need to be to outrun an 05-06 R1 on the highway? I would imagine like 800whp, no?

Assume the car is a 6 speed and a 12 bolt, sticky tires. Typically, Camaros fully built with LS6 block and M6 are about 3700lbs, no? So figure a 3700 6 speed and 12 bolt. Trying to out run crotch rockets on the highway.

Also, 600whp in a car like that should yield 130mph traps? While a 675whp would trap around 135mph?"

Automagic smacks 1000cc's and I think even 1400cc's with over 1,100rwhp in an automatic.

The only bikes I could set races up with at the moment are 600s, 11' R1, and 10' ZX-10. That's why I am asking. Just wondering how much of a chance I have against the bigger bikes. Actually unsure if the 600whp would be enough for an 05 and new 600.

As a general rule, however many cc's they have is the minimum ponies you'll need. That's what I've always heard at least.

It's the most basic sense though. Just like a properly set up 400hp can beat a 600hp that just had random parts thrown at it, it's really all in the setup. I don't know what bikes generally run, but you can easily find out and then make those times your goal and follow the lead of others who have hit those goals.

Just run them. Are you worried about losing?

Stock 1000's generally run around mid 10's depending on the rider.

Not really afraid of losing to anyone. It's more of a benchmark of questioning. I understand what everyone here is saying but there has to be a basic rule of thumb. For a well ridden 600... 600whp should suffice. For a well ridden 1000, 900whp is roughly the number you need to run away from one.

And generally speaking... a 650whp Twin Turbo Camaro (2000) will trap around 133mph?

But they trap very high mid 130s -140s. If they have the drag bar setup, they'll run quicker off the line.
