Default Bolt On M6 1/8 guys come in...

Going to the 1/8th track for the first time here soon. Mods in sig., on street tires, with a good driver, what do you guys think i'll run? Might be throwing a fast 90 and mail order tune on by then also. What are you guys running? P.S. i searched and couldn't find much info. Thanks

Id say on street tires you could get it in the 8.50 range with good driving. Mine with a set of 275 pro radials and 4.30 gear ran 8.00's. That was stock down to the filter.

Nice, would a good tire help alot? I've done several runs on the street, but i'm a newb as far as the track goes, so i don't know what to expect. My goal is to run a 7.9 or better with stock internals. I was thinking about getting bias ply et streets on a separate set of wheels for the rear. BTW i love your car, you're not by any chance on WV LSX on fb, are you?

7.9 stock internals is pretty easy. But for the 1/8 mile you'll have to work the 60'

3.90's, a hoosier 275/50/15 and shift it around 6400 rpm.

Also, 1-7/8 headers with x pipe duals will be your friend.

Thanks hammer, not really wanting to change much on the car though besides tires, which i'm still undecided on what to get. Will the stock valvesprings and pushrods take that rpm? One thing i don't like about the s60 is the ratio jumps straight from 3.73 to 4.10, got a deal i couldn't pass up on it though. Something i forgot to mention, it's got minor weight reduction....spare & jack, probably pulling the rear seats and some small stuff

What gears do you have now?

A stock car doesn't need a lot of tire. And with a Manual you'll want something with a little more pliable sidewall like the hoosier DR or a stiff wall slick. DR's like nittos just suck all around.

I like the hoosier 275/50/15. Softer sidewall, good traction, and 25.7" tall

I've got 4.10's, it's in the sig.

Tires are the main thing i'm debating, there's so many biased opinions on all of them, i've still got the stock 16" wheels in the barn, was thinking about putting hoosiers on those.
Would the stock clutch hold up to launches? It's a newer OE replacement LUK. It grabs pretty good, and doesn't slip as it is.

I was hoping you (hammer) or hio would jump in my thread.... you guys know your **** lol

Anything over a 26" tall tire is a waste of power at this level. Get the fast 92/92, an 85mm truck maf and match all the intake plumbing size to it.

Take off the front sway bar for the track.

Get it tuned. If it is make sure your limiter is around 6600+

4.10's will be good if you're shifting around 6400

Clutch will be fine for now but replace it with something lighter in the future.

Hoosier 275/50/15, 2nd gear burnout, let it eat

Anyone else with stock internals come on in with track times and mods! Happy memorial weekend

Yeah a good bias tire would make the difference. Id get a set of 15" wheels with some mt 26x10 stiffwalls. Buddy of mine went 7.79 or something like that with boltons and tune and a 16" bias tire. If I had a 26" tire instead of the pro I would went 7's with the gear tires some suspension and no tune. No im not on that group juss on wv motorsports but I can look that one up.

Tires and gears are by far the best bang for buck. You will regret not doing it sooner

Thanks guys, just realized my sig. wasn't showing up. Just in case it's still doing it.....the cars got lid, headers, ory, slp catback, tick master, b&m shifter, umi torque arm w/ reloc., strano springs and bars, bilsteins, relocated 1LE lca's, S60 w/ 4.10's......eventually putting the fast 90/ NW 90 on along with a mailorder tune from lsx powertuning, definately getting tires... hoosiers probably

WV hugger, 7.7? Is that with gears too? There's a nice hoss as the cover car on there. Figured it might have been you lol
