Default My Newly Aquired C5.

Hey guys,

Some of you hampton roads guys may have seen it at the track rental last friday, but i just picked it up last tuesday and have been lovin every minute of it!

Its a '98 Z51 Auto car with 114k on it.

It was BONE stock when i picked it up the other day and so far i have added:

Fat Daddy Frame Savers
Flush Mount Taillight Kit
Z06 Replica Wheels
Zip-Tie Mod

Future plan is Full bassani exhaust, ls6 or fast intake, z06 brake screens, and possibly stage 2 or 3 243's and a mild cam this summer?

Had a blackout kit on it, but the front flew away on the interstate and i almost got rearended on 460 on the way to the track so off they went!

Let me ask the question what did you pay for a vette with 114K on it?

Looks great... heck of a price. Flush tails look good, I have them on mine. Stay away from the blackouts... they're cheesey.

Oh yeah... had it done for Corvettes @ Carlisle back in august But I grew tired of the Tigershark nose and the clear roof so I sold the nose and put a solid roof panel on the car. Much nicer cruising w/ the solid roof (quieter) as the clear one acts as a sound chamber.... but of course now i have a white front bumper and a silver roof haha.

She'll go in the paint booth in a few months to get those re-sprayed along w/ my Specter Werkes rear facia and have the car buffed up. After that I think I'm going to finally put AFR 205s on the car to boost my mid range torque etc. Car has over 81k on it so new lifters wouldn't hurt, plus it'll be time for new springs at 90k anyway.

FYI I've got a set of black/brushed lip Z06 repros that are 18s all around w/ some Azenzis on them that I'm going to eventually sell. Took them off the silver '98 trackrat.

Looks good!! I have been loving my FRC more and more lately since my formula is down. Add a vararam and 12.7's 12.8's will be consistent!

Yea I recently picked up an 01 C5 Z06 car had 87k miles runs/drives like new so far lol. These things feel way tighter then fbodys with similar mileage. I had mine on the dyno the morning I got it it made 340/332 then I found out the car must of had some sort of programmer on it because the a/f was in the 10's so I hooked up my hp tuners made some adjustments and it made 352 rw and the tq was like 350 somthing also. I also had mine to the track and the first time out went 12.2 @ 114 on a 1.84 60ft with better air and and a better launch the car might possibly go 11.9's.
