I am hoping for 11's with some work and a little personal weight reduction.
You'll get a 9 second pass out of it this year for sure, the safety and all that stuff is the pita that will come after.

Then I'll make my license passes as soon we get the car working
pita stuff, but we all have to go thru it sooner or later.
I wouldn't put them in the same class as a bolt together chance converter, but I don't think ya need that until you're trying to go into the bottom 8 second range or faster.
I know that if you get an NHRA license, you can send the paperwork in, or a copy of your NHRA license and get an IHRA lic, but NHRA won't recognize an IHRA license and they will make you go thru it all again.
That being said, unless you don't plan on ever racing anywhere other then epping I'd get your NHRA one and then just send the paperwork in and get the IHRA one, be easier in the long run, that way in case you move someday and there's no IHRA track around, or if epping were to close or go to nhra, or if ya wanted to make a trip to another track you'd be good to go, stuff to think about. Same thing with the chassis cert, I'd get it NHRA certified.
But I hear your reasoning as well and it also makes sense.... IMO, better to have then to not.
