any wheel polishing gurus in the eastern section?
looking for a formula or process to make my full polished fikse fm5's look like they did from the factory. right now my best combo is noxon 7 and then mothers billet, both applied by hand. i have the mothers power cone but it isnt good for a perfect finish. any suggestions? thanks guys..

The wheels look excellent on the car, like mirrors. But up close you can see the polishing marks...maybe something I will just have to live with. Def. not more abrasive, would have to be more fine to take more swirl marks out. Noxon 7 is top notch stuff and I highly reccommend it

I'm not sure if it will work but I know 0000 grade steel wool is fine enough to clean glass and not scratch.
I am going to try 0000 steel wool and a heavy duty cleaner then a fine finishing polish on a set of wheels whenever I come across them. I want to learn how to finish wheels in rough shape.

If it's just a product recommendation you're looking for, I like to use Speedy Metal Polish http://www.speedymetalpolish.com/
If the wheels aren't clearcoated, then you're dealing with fine scratches in a bare metal surface and most of these "polishes" are mainly going to work by filling them in, much like a wax does for paint. You'll need to use a fine abrasive polish (probably via machine) or fine grit paper to actually have any success at removing them from the wheel surface.

Joe come down and practice on my Corvette wheels sometime... I've had enough of them myself
