Default Walmart Full Synthetic Oil

Interesting info on Wal-Mart Synthetic Oil:

I was told by Tech Support at Royal Dutch Shell Corporation, (the makers of Quaker State, Pennzoil, and Rotella engine lubricants) that the Walmart brand of full synthetic oil (that is bottled by Warren Packaging Co. for Walmart), is supplied to Warren by Royal Dutch Shell, and is virtually "identical" to Pennzoil Platinum.
I have used Pennzoil Platimum with excellent results. Shell has always made excellent lubricants, ask any truckers or heavy equipment operators who use Rotella, they consider it the "standard".

I also learned the the MSDS (Safety Sheets) confirm the above!

Sooooooo... seems good for DD's and frequent oil changers looking to save a few bucks!

I've also heard this and similar claims for the SuperTech (Wal-Mart) brand filters.

this has been discussed ALOT of the recent years. I use it in F-Body all the time and in my Vette once. I have had no problems at all.

never know, it could be the exact same as Penn Plat with a different label. If it is and it is cheaper I will be switching.

I just need more evidence. I'll probably be researching my self.

What I bet that it's the bottom of the barrel when they get done making a vat of it. Normally you get what you pay for. Walmart also has Vizio LCD TV's, Vizio TVs have are cheaper and have Sony guts but are they a true Sony. Hell no and don't compete with picture quality either, just another knock off. Can't complain too much because I own one. I bet it is about the same thing with their oil also. It is but it's not as advertised like everything Walmart sells. But I may be wrong, who knows.

I used it in my Silverado with no problems when the odometer went past 100k. No problems, switched from Mobil 1.

The supertech filters used to be the same as delco filters but i've heard they switched manufacturers. I haven't confirmed this yet though.

just called royal dutch shell and pennzoil DOES package the supertech oil for walmart. they said that the pennzoil is a higher quality product and their top of the line stuff. They wouldn't say what to compare the walmart stuff to.
