Default Went shooting Sunday/last night

I went shooting with the fiance on Sunday, I rented a .22 and a 9mm then we shot my .45 and M4. Had a really good time and the fiance was talking about it for the following 24 hours non stop. It seems she really likes it.

Yesterday my brother and his buddy went with me. We shot my brother's buddies guns....a few .22 distance pistols, few 9mm's, .36 revolver, .44 mag revolver, two .45's, AK-47, AR 15 and a shot gun. Had a really good time but wow did I need to shower, shooting indoors (North Attleboro) in a humid/warm envioment for almost 3 hours leaves you covered in powder :-)

If any of you guys are memebers of a range (because I am not yet) and plan on shooting on the weekend; let me know if your bored and want company. I'll come down for a hour or so.

Supposed to be nice tomorrow. I'm down to 30 rounds in the M4 ahhaah.

I have 300 left for the .45

I have to come across more ammo, waiting for someone to re-load 1,000 .45 for me. I want 1,000 .223 as well. Anything beyond 1,000 of each will be shot. It just takes time and I can't find the .45 brass I need, I only have 96. Are you or your brother in the market for 95% (like new) 30 round mag's for the AR's? Someone online is selling them for about 16.00 a peice.

I'll be in work tomorrow until about noon. If I could I'd shoot 500+ rounds a day for a week.

C'mon Joe....You know that a quick 1/4 mi pass in a stout car beats shooting off those "gangsta guns" anyday......Best wishes. WJ

Last time my guns were out was probly 9 years ago.I had to get rid of about 2000 rounds of 9mm and a bunch of shotgun,22 and 38 ammo.

Back then we shot in pits where you could go nuts.

Im still looking around for a decent range. I will prob end up joining the Cape Ann Sportsman Club just for the convenience. I have been up to the Manchester Firing Lane a few times. It's too expensive. Still have yet to fire my shottie. I have put a good few rounds through my .40 Looking into getting a sig 556 and a 226 in .40, but those will be after the cammie upgrades of the summer. Yes Don, I am still coming for the torque converter hopefully sometime in July. I got a good deal on 92/92 set up and needed that ls1 intake off, also couldn't pass on the strano koni's sale. I am aiming for end of august as a deadline to have the longtubes and torque converter installed.

Joe- we have plenty of 30rd mags... I have at least 10 Thermolds (polymer mags) that are sitting in a box and haven't been touched since I purchased them along with like 13-15 hi-cap mags for my Glock 9mm's.... Thanks though!

I wanted to go racing today but we had a blast at my friend's wedding last night so making it to Epping this morning did not happen (and watch, it'll be a perfect day for racing too)!

I like the range we have down here but it's way out of the way for ya. For out of town folk, it's $60/year but they close at three o'clock during the week and four o'clock on the weekends. My buddy goes to one further out in Dartmouth where they gave him a key to the front gate in which he can go almost anytime.. but the range is only like 4-6 lanes and last I was there the mud was a good 6-8" deep and the fees are over a $100.

I stopped buying ammo for a while... guns and ammo in general cost me a lot of money since November, so I am trying to recoupe my spendings!

Joe, I belong to a local club. 300 yard outdoor range and 2 indoor pistol ranges. They have trap & **** for the shotguns, but that is not my style. We also have an out door pistol range with falling plate.

I pay my dues every year, but have not used the club in 4 years. I need to get the new Key for this year.

I went yesteday! I was alone.....shot someones S&W MP .45 which will def be the next pistol without a doubt (along with the shotty)....very cool firearm.

I figure now is the worst time to stock up on ammo. I am just going to keep 50 rounds on hand and buy what I need for the day. I've been picking up the brass for my reloader guy but I still need a ton more. I have like 120 .223, 195 .45, 50 .40 and about 200 9mm alont with other odd sizes. I dont need anything beyond the .45 and .223 but I figure I'll help some other poor soul :-)

I'll be a member of the Braintree 24/7/265 club so whomever wants to go can come. I want to get Don, Marcel and the guys to go. It's something fun to do for a hour or so.

Thats cool Scotty.

I am not really fond of the polymer guns like Glocks etc but the S&W MP .45 is much nicer than I thought. I need to expand!!! One thing I am trying to do is stay within one caliber for the rifles and handguns....problem is I want a 9mm sometime in the next year or two or whenever. The rifles; I can see myself wanting an AK.

Todd - The range I want to go to is 24/7/265....the first year is pricey because of the startup fee of 75.00 plus the membership of 100.00 but every year after that is just 100.00. I dont think it's that bad for such a large and modern range www.brp.org

When I go on 7/12/2009 it will be pro-rated because I am so far into the year, the 75.00 startup fee stands but the 100.00 is pro-rated.

I pay $150 a year. We have a land assement & initial fee for new members. Plus they have to do 12 hours of work a year for the first 3 years.

If you go for a S&W M&P .45 try to get one that does not have the Mass trigger. the mass trigger is 12lbs and non mass is 6 lbs. I picked one up used that was ordered by a cop and had none of the mass crap( 6lb trigger, no mag disconnect, no internal lock)

Bill - Yea I heard how akward they S&W MP's are from the factory. If I can get one already done I would prefer to. I hate getting something new then not being able to use it for a few weeks.

I'm telling you Don, it's fun to get into. You already have everything you need........just a few bucks in ammo and you can have your fun. If you get bored, just put them away for a few more years!!!

I forget what you had, I think you have a 1911 if I remember.

I use to be into them back in the day of firing at sand pit's. Before I moved into this house Jen/myself tried to shoot all the ammo we had. 3000+ rounds of 9mm,1000+rounds of 45 ,a zillion 22's, and a few of the others. It does get boring.Remember I was brought up with guns and shot almost every weekend for 10 years or so.Just got burnt up.

Yeah you guys sound like me when I was a kid. Went shooting ALL the time. Right out back in the sandpits. Haven't gone to the range in a long time. I certainly miss it, it's been a couple busy years for me. Heck I haven't even gone fishing once this year yet, and that's one of my most favorite things!

Like Don said I clean/oil em' a couple times a year. I do mess around a lot with my Gamo rifle, thats' cheap and a lot of fun and I don't have to go to the range.

I am feeling the itch though to pick up a new toy soon, well see.

I was in Wally word the other day and they have NO ammo!!! Just a few boxes of UMC crap and some shotgun. I used to get ammo online all the time, I dunno if you still can.
