Get your car sponsored?
Is it possible to have someone sponsor your car for mods? Basically im desperate to get free mods and slap some decals on my ride to get them. Any help here or should I keep dreaming?

It may be possible but it doens't happen very often unless you race in a points class every weekend. If you just want some stickers for your car, you'll get free ones with most parts you buy. LOL

I've got a few sponsors. They don't even ask that I put stickers on my car.
In all seriousness, nice thought but it's highly unlikely unless you're doing something really unique with the car and/or winning a lot of races. Even then you're lucky to get parts at a reasonable cost not often for free.

Have you tried any local shops? Thats what I did, but I bracket race every weekend at different tracks which are mostly the bigger buck races.
I would start at local speed shops.
I got ArkLaTex Drive shaft, gave me one steel and one aluminum driveshaft for the price of the yoke which was $45.
My transmission guy (Jimmy Post Racing) does my transmissions for just the price of the parts. They usually last for years once he builds them, but if anything ever goes wrong he does all the labor for free and he gets a big discount from BTE.
like I said just get out there and try local shops....anything is better than nothing.

you usually have to do something first that impresses a sponsor...ie race alot, already have a stout combo that gets attention, etc. even then, its rare to get alot of free stuff. Much easier to find a hookup that'll sell close to cost and help out with labor...

Having a known rep or going everywhere and racing will make a difference. I have heard and seen people working out individual deals or getting contigency money as well.
IMO the best Sponsor is the Visa and M/C lol. They have always supported my racing hobby.

it is possible to do it without racing BUT you need to think about what is in it for them? If you can get them magazine or tv exposure then they might be willing to give you parts as it becomes advertizing for them... but for company to give you parts because you will put a sticker on your car to cruise your neighborhood, i dont see that heppening, now if you were gonna do something like the HOTROD POWERTOUR or something then that would be a good chance to get hooked up

Hey- lookey here- Rockland County (I'm in Pearl River)
Usually you have to commit to "X" amount of race dates in a specific series (Pro Mod, SS, etc) to get a sponsor to back you.
Max Naylor was backed by my wifes company:
