Good catch Marc. the data has one pass where jay was tagged with a zero in the 1/4 so Excel averaged it all.

Here is the fix

name Total
Charles Weslowski 8.79
Frank J Beck 9.22
Jay McCardle 9.54
Alfred 'Sonnie' Pongonis 9.66
Shawn Cavanagh 9.79 This one should not have counted due to equipment

Pat McGrath 11.08
Melissa Florello 11.12

I'm thinking

GM EFI Motor
GM Body only???? (do you want to race against Fox body cars)
Any power addder
4.00 Pro tree w/ 7 sec auto start
Deep Staging??? (Remember auto start will be on)
Any GM style Transmission
Trans Brake & 2 step Allowed
Muffers required
Full Interior, carpet, ect.
Any tire??? Maybe 30/13.5 max??
No tube or sq. frame cars
No four link cars???
Weight limit??? (like 3,000lb min.)?
Barry races by himself (saftey reasons)
All run field
Pro or Sportsman Ladder???
Lesser breakout advances
Min qualifying ET 9.99???

.

Should be open to anybodies LS powered car/truck (not like there are 20 GM cars trying to get in the race)

The weight min could be a problem, that means you would need someone at the scales during each round to make sure everyone is legal after every pass.

Min qualifying of 9.99 will keep car count down

I also would look into a rule of no delay boxes, Make it a drivers race not a computer

The min weight idea was incase we would allow Fox bodies and such that would weigh hundreds of pounds lighter than us. That would be a starting line advanage, quicker roll out and less traction needed on E-town's great track prep.
I don't think it would be necesary to weigh in after every pass, especially for the regulars.

Gay is a striped down LS powered Fox body weighting in at 2600lbs with 15" slicks launching at 6500rpm.

Got to be carefully of the rules you make. People arent gona build the car to just race the quick 8. Also havent seen any 2600lb cars come out and try and race in the qucik 8

There's a 346 inch Mustang that recently went 9.0 N/A. Those cars are no joke...

True, don't want him crossing the center line and scraping the wall or anything.

No I havn't either, but I'm hoping to see a lot of new cars with this proposed new format.

So how much does your car weigh & what size tires you running.

I weigh 3250 & run 28/11.50/15's

Well ****, why you complaining about a weigh/tire rule?

I would agree to any size radial tire anyway.

I just don't feel a tubed stripped 2600 lb car with 15" slicks is what we want in this class.
