there were only i think a little over 4 thow ss camaros built in 99. depending on options depends on the value, it would be a shame to dump a ss and not try to repair it.

Since when? so there is a lot of potentially seriously damaged vehicles in NJ?

I just had mine totalled air bag deployment front bumper inner metal bumper and I am buying it back with a loan still on it and they are still paying me 700 to own it lol. Which is about what it is going to cost to fix it slightly over.

The reason is bc cars like yours are being totaled for minor damange. There is no reason to brand a car like that with a salvage title for minor repairs. For instance.. if someone vandalizes a 2000 chevy cavalier by keying the entire car insurance would have to write up for a full repaint, probally a 2-3k job for a car worth maybe $1000 bucks.

Orrrr. You dont take the claim, nor money. Keep the car and fix yourself and there is no Salvaged Title.

I would question the insurance company.. i was 90% sure if the car is older the 6 years old you would not get a salvage title..

I hear what your saying and I can see the pic but Ins. Co. run on formulas and set rates as well as proceedures.

When I see that pic, we all can see it needs a bumper. But its not just that, its the parts which they need to find factory replacement in most cases. They need to have it prepped and painted but the issue with Silver or other metallic colors is that you need to blend into the rest of the car which in your case the front clip will need to be done.

Cost add up and I am sure with the age, they did not want to bother to try to make you whole.

Sorry for your misfortune. I think either way you should fix the car, Looks like about 4k in damage, insurance should cover that. I had a similar accident a long time ago. It sucks, but keep it or sell you would probably be better off fixing it right.
