what is your daily driver
TO me the car needs to be reliable and not going to have issues 3-8 years down the road.
Example, paid $1500 for a 2000 Buick Century 50ish on the odom and needed just basic matience and tires and gets when driving correctly 20-26 mpg on ave 50/50 freeway/in town mix.
Wife has a DD 2007 HHR Auto that gets upwards of 24-29 mpg but imo they have issues but depends on what you get.
If it came down to a new DD I was eyeing Fords and some Buicks.

I take my CTS-V DD becasue I commute 8 miles to work...
If i still drove much more than that I would need a MPG car not a HP car.
From my old car... Subaru Legacy GT 05+. They are turbo and fund to drive and AWD and can get 25+mpg. Also comfortable and the heated seats/mirrors/wipers come in handy in the winter.
