I am planning to drive to the shootout in Indianapolis this october. Just wondering if anyone else was planning on driving out from the area? The trip would be fun if there was a group that met up on the way.

I would be interested to hear whos going and what car you will be bringing and what class you are planning to run in.

 

Leaving from NJ most likely on Wednesday the 5th in the late afternoon/evening and driving straight through.
Planning (for now at least) on entering the LSX Rumble index class and True Street, running either 12.00 or 13.00 (gotta defend my True Street class win from last year ).
Still undecided on the Holley LS Fest in Bowling Green KY the month before.

 

Ya my plans are to leave wendesday after work and drive straight through also. Sadly my truck and Rx7 are apart and have no chance of being completed in time.

But this tuesday I am going to pick up a 04 GTO so the plan is to run that out there.

Planning on running the GTO in the rumble and true street 13.50 class. But we will see once I get some test runs in at NED once I get the GTO.

Wont be able to make it to LS Fest this year, but maybe next year with the RX7.

 

Really thinking of going this year, would be racing the GTO in the rumble and true street hopefully 11.0 but maybe 10.0 if a good amounbt of extra money comes in but dout that

 

Would be great for the LS community for there to be a big racer turnout for the event this year.

 

few of us from pittsburgh will be making the trip. i will be running LSX rumble in my El Camino. PRob run true street again this year too.

 

i plan on going down from grand rapids mi. unsure if ill run but if i do itll be mid 12s and unsure of class

I was thinking about making the trip, but only riding out in the DD Caddy and just spectating. One day I'll have a tow rig and actually be up for taking my car.

I remember talkin' to ya at the very first one (down in Memphis), that ESP nitrous car was runnin' so strong, that car's best numbers stood as the quickest nitrous LSx ET until only somewhat recently too I think.

 

yea that car was running really good then and it was the record holder for quite some time back then...

At the time we were just out gunned with the big turbo cars but we tried anyways...lol

 

Think it was 2nd in the 8s after ARE if I remember correctly? With Lingenfelter getting there shortly after.

You guys used to bring the car carrier semi out there to all the events. That's the way to do it.

 

yes ESP was 2nd to the 8's way back with the silver camaro...then the black camaro ken raced in the first ls1tech series and won that series.
the Orange camaro was the record holder for awhile.

It was really cool when Ken had all the race cars on one of his 18 wheelers to go to the race

 

If im still at ft knox i will prob take that trip this year..

 

I'm going to Indy and Bowling Green with my WS6, running Rumble and True Street 12.0 class. Will be nice to tune for a 12.0 index all weekend, hopefully I have the same luck in True Street I had in Maple Grove for Super Chevy with 12.006, 12.008, and 12.003 runs

 

I'll be leaving for ls fest and indy with bgblockelcamino.

will be running 10.50 index and probably true street as well.

 

When you're in Indy, check out St Elmo's steak house. It was recommended to me and I went during the 2007 Formula1 US Grand Prix... Well worth every penny!

Make reservations soon if you go in October. Granted the Grand Prix brought in more people to the city, but the dinner times filled up quick lol.

 

Glad to see everyone posting and planning to make the trip. I bought the GTO today so its looks like Im good to go.

 

think I'm skipping Indy and run drag radial in Bowling Green...if I get my bugs worked out
