Default sell my daily and pick up 07 Tbss for cheap?

just got a 07 TBSS on trade. its a AWD SS loaded with nav, dvd, leather, ect only 44K. silver on black... here the kicker.. it some some super gay aftermarket 17inch wheels and the stockers are no where to be found... but its less then $20K and I found stocker rims with tires like new for a grand for all 4.....

my current daily is a 03 escape limited 117K runs great never had a issue. ist paid off worth about 5-6K... i would have to finance (1.49%x36 months) the TBSS as im in the middle of buying a house and all my cash is tied up at the moment

any ideas? its bone stock minus the gay wheels.

i wanted to keep this away from the TBSS forums as Im sure its very one sided views.

I'm not a big fan of the TBSS. They get loose and rattly in mileage.

If they got better mileage I'd already have one. AWD and 4.10's your gonna get like 16hwy burning the good stuff.

With that aside, The platform itself is starting to show its age. The GMT360 from the early 2000's really did not change much at end of its life. Fit and finish is far from great and average for the year. Its one of the last GM vehicles from the old parts bin.

The SS actually handles quiet well and the awd works great for every day usage. 20's are expensive though.

However they are good vehicles, I bought an Envoy instead simply for mpg and being more trail/dirt/snow road capable. They are reliable and fairly comfortable to drive everyday.

To be honest with you I was even thinking of buying a 5.3 traiblazer and giving it the SS treatment for looks, springs, bumpers, wheels (so I could keep my mpg up).

If you are not worried about mileage, I say rock on. They got a big following and they are a cool little truck.

Well after 70-80k+ what domestic vehicle on last years chassis isn't prone to...
Balljoints
Tie Rods
Wheel bearings
End links
Bushings
u-joints

Other than that kinda stuff they don't hold many surprises. I still say if you like it get it.

They aren't worth the money new, but one in good shape with under 50k is worth close to 20 g's for sure. Its a truck after all, body on frame, its not gonna ride like a new Caddy. But they take a good beating.

If your commute sucks, I'd stay away. Gas is just too expensive.

Do you guys even own a TBSS? Mileage isnt THAT bad. I get 20mpg on highway and 15 around townish.

OP- check my for sale thread. $21.5k for mine. I'd possibly consider a trade for your DD + cash.

I just got my wife an 07 envoy denial a few weeks ago. Almost the same thing. It's fully loaded with every opition you can think of. I like that it's not Awd. You can select four wheel drive. Also it Has the 5.3 in it so it moves pretty good and It shuts down 4cyliners when your cruising So the the fuel mileage is pretty good between city/highway. I'm very happy with it

lol tempting. but 1ss right? so its missing nav, leather, heated seats, dvd? it would have to be one hell of a deal honestly. I can pick this up cheap.. is a 2SS nav, dvd, sunroof, granted its stock but its a DD and I have a complete nitrous kit laying around lol. but it does need factory rims+tires, but then I can use the cheap aftermarket ones as winter beater rims. throw some blizzaks on them and have a blast. wish urs had headers too lol

I dont drive that car (about 20min each way) to and from work. plus im a manager at a decent size chevy dealer. props if anything breaks under powertrain warranty

btw kbb on my escape is 7400 ok good conditiion Private party. I would need yours at a smoking deal and get 6K out of my DD

I do have one i got 16ish highway stock. After a tune i am sure it will get better. It also Tows my car and open trailer without a problem. There are a couple little things that drive me nuts but I look past them cause i really like the suv. One is with the nav you can't listen to a cd while you are using the nav. Two is alot of them have wind noise inside which is fixable but for the price wtf lol. I won't lie the srt 8 seems alittle better quality but alot mor price. All and all I love mine.

15/20? lol. My stock TBSS got 14/17 and that was driving like a 75 year old Vette owner.

They are a great DD, but not so hot in the snow unless you have actual snow tires in the winter. Even then it's sketchy. It may have low miles, but the trannies are made of glass and I assume it no longer has bumper to bumper? I got my trans rebuilt in Feb of last year. It ate a bearing in August of last year.

I paid $17,900 for my '06 with 50k, all options except Nav and sunroof 3 years ago.

It's a fun SUV, not gonna lie. I get plenty of looks and lots of surprised faces on the street. It's far cooler than an Escape, but don't expect a tank in the snow. And you'll be paying a fortune in gas.

If you have issues driving your AWD TBSS in the snow, you need to learn how to drive.

Wow, really? I'd rather drive my IROC in the snow than my TBSS if that tells you anything.
