Anyone use them? Any feedback? My ls1 blew #7 and I need a rebuild. Probably going 383 stroker.

I've used them for over 20 years for machine work.
They can handle anything you need.

Martyn Motors built my 364. They did a great job. Ran 9.94. Faster than we expected. Held the 200 shot with out a problem. Would not have hesitate to recommend them.

Thanks guys, they have my ls1 now getting rebuilt. I decided not to do a stroker, since this car will get spray or boost later anyway. Dropped a pretty penny on some nice callies rods and wiseco pistons though. They seem knowledgeable and were very helpful and friendly! Man I can't stand shops that give off that vibe that they are doing me a favor and it is a hassle for them to build my motor....he was the opposite of that. I have seen that in the past with machine shops and the motors always came out terrible. Still haven't had a good experience with a machine shop, but I am hoping this one turns out money.

That plus the fact that I live about 1/4 mile from his shop helps things lol.

I am just hoping the build cost won't exceed $3500 total, which is what a brand new Texas Speed 347 costs. Of course, you have to factor in shipping there as well, so more like $3800. He quoted me at $2000-2500 for a stroker labor, so I assume I will come in at $2k or less since the block won't have to be clearanced and measured.

Just got my motor back, Kevin was fantastic to deal with. We had an issue where Wiseco sent me the wrong piston rings twice and Kevin stayed later on a Saturday to finish my motor so I could have that weekend to get started on the install. Prices seemed on par too, so I was happy with that. The other workers had a great attitude as well.

Crossing my fingers that it starts on the first try and there is good oil pressure!

My block wasn't honed with a torque plate, am I going to have issues?

The shop is working with me. Will resleeve the 2 cylinders, torque plate hone all 8 cylinders, re-ring all 8 cylinders, and re-assemble for $0.

They may have screwed this one up, but their customer service is top notch I will give them that. I am sure this was just an off-chance mistake. Everyone makes mistakes, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

It worked out in the end. Kevin made it right at his cost and the motor is running amazing now. I would use again. Customer service is hard to find these days.

If they even honed it in the first place with no Trq plate and gave it back to you like that i would never step another foot in that place.

There's quite a few reasons why Martyn Motors has been in business for over 40 years. One being Customer Service which has always been top shelf with them.

People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

I wouldn't have been proud of this assembly.

hahahaha pulling up a picture from over 10 years ago of a mock up motor? Cool story.

Mock up? With pistons in the wrong bores? There's a new concept on engine building basics.
It's a picture YOU were using trying to sell it on 12/18/11 Post #180. Not quite 10 years old. Cool story.
