What do u mean a plug in the back of the block? If that's a sensor it can't be the issue because iam not getting oil to the top of the engine. I made a post on th issue in the ls1 internals forum

He means something is plugged up (with gunk, crap, etc) at the back of the block (where the sensor reads the pressure).

No there is a plug in the back of the block. People call it the barbell.

Cam bearings could be the problem with no top end oil. After going through the problems with cam bearings in my build, that would be my guess.

Was it running with oil pressure then dropped ? Or did you install it and never had oil pressure?

Then it could very well be the dumb bell in the back of the motor or the freeze plug in the front next to the pump.

Even smoked bearings will atleast have pressure on cold start.

Time to pull the motor... I've had collapsed lifters before, but never went to "0" oil pressure. Sure it's not a spun bearing noise, plus the lifters rattling ? Either way, you're pulling the heads to get to the lifters.

So u think that just the one clasped lifter could cause zero oil pressure to the top of the motor?
