Does anyone know of a place between lynchburg and Richmond that will look past no cats on inspection? That's the only thing keeping me from passing that I have seen on the list. Got pulled over 2 weeks after moving here for radar detector and 15% window tint I got when I was in Texas for 2 years. Cop thankfully gave me an inspection sticker warning since I didn't know it was required and I had only been here for 2 weeks.

Yeah, 50% and 35% are really high numbers. Now, some cars come with "Factory Privacy Glass" that is naturally darker and can not be removed. Those are legal, and trucks and SUV's can have as dark as tint as they want in the back.

you can have 35% in the back but unless you have a black car or **** them off they usually dont make a fuss. and as for the exhaust, when i lived in virginia beach every exhaust shop avoided my car like the plague because i was catless LTs and dumped before the rear axles. all i wanted was a o2 bung welded in but noooooo my exhaust is "is as illegal as illegal can be"
but VA's country is gorgeous! i hate east VA though

Stick to the smaller mom and pop inspection stations without lifts. Larger tire shops and dealers get hard ons for rejections but I can't blame them in a way. State police will put you on probation in a second, even if the car should fail but passes due to the states requirements for a safe vehicle.
For example. You can't fail a truck for stacked lifting blocks but you can fail for catalytic converters. You can't fail tires that are dry rotted to hell but you can fail for no reverse lights???
Best of luck.

Thanks guys! Have to make an emergency trip back to Illinois but will see next week how this whole inspection thing goes down. Have a feeling I'm going to be taping a $20 to each header under the car when it's getting inspected.
