Question High performance driving school in the tri-state?

I'm having trouble finding one. It's my dad's bday coming up and we're looking to send him to one (hopefully I'll be able to tag along ) But any suggestions and recommendations are greatly appreciated!!

teh philly region of the scca usually offers the Evolution school at some point every season. it is great autocross training. the techniques apply to road racing and even street driving.
www.autox4u.com has teh philly region schedule on it

This should help http://www.autox4u.com/pda/
They let you run different courses at pocono, you drive your own car with a instructer, and depending on what group you want to drive in, you can pass other cars

Thanks for all the replies! I knew i could count on you guys. Now, another question: Where can I rent a c6 for the day? (not to take to the track although that would be nice)

I think you have to be 25 to rent a car in NJ. I tried to rent a few nice cars for the prom when I was 18, there wasn't a chance in hell of that happening. Maybe I'm wrong?

It's been years since I did a three day race school class with them, but it wasn't anywhere near $7k.

Give them a call because I don't know about current pricing. I do know they had many packages at all different prices.

$3,000 sticks in my mind, but don't hold me to that number.

It was a three day racing school and at the end you got your SCCA competition license. Some classroom each day and a lot of instructional on track time in the Formula Dodge cars.

Keep in mind this is one of top level classes geared towards more advanced racers. If you don't have a lot of track time under your belt I don't know if this is the class for you. Like I said before, they have many packages for all different levels... most are much cheaper than their three day racing school. In general I think it was about $1000 per day on average for most of the classes. Contact them for more info.

Here are some Skip Barber package and pricing links:

Driving school:

Racing School:

I wasn't far off, looks like the prices have gone up a little (certainly not $7k), but still not bad for what may be the best school in the country. Hope this helps.
