Ignorance as to what the Vette doesn't beat it in every category? that is by far no ls7 killer. He made the topic not I.

- You choose the rear suspension set up, either IRS or Solid Rear Axle with the IRS apparently pulling over 1.0g in the corners...
- The Price... in and around 30k
Motor: 5.4 Supercharged, 3 valve heads (with HUGE valves), forged internals similar to the 4.6 (Crank, rods, etc), modestly rated (under rated actually) ~465 HP/495 lb ft Torque, using a twin screw S/C similar to that on the Ford GT but pullied differently, hence the lower HP. This motor was supposedly made official (in house only) just in the last few days.
Transmissions: 6 speed manuals standard with a heavy duty 5 speed auto (the tranny used on the Ford Superduty but programmed/geared differently) as an option in late '07 or the '08 M/Y
Suspensions: A re-engineered, heavy duty IRS will be an option with a modified 3 link/panhard bar-live axle setup as the standard rear axle. SVT will be going for the Road Race buyer as well as the straight line racer with both axles optional. However, the Axle options are not set in stone as of the moment but look highly likely to be approved. The Cobra will be lowered about 1.5" from a stock GT.
Bodywork: The retro theme will continue with a serious nod to the '67 Shelby. The fenders may be flared more than the standard '05 but that is not for certain as of now. The ducktail will be factory installed. Also, no convertible is planned for now but no reason was given other than concerns over chassis reliability due to the torque volume.
Wait, wasn't this exact (inaccurate) info posted all over the boards about 2 months ago and quickly refuted and proven false? Looks very familiar.

chevy might be mostly dead, but ford still sux, and cant build a fast car without the use of a supercharger.. and even in that case, the 03's case, its not enuff to handlt a n/a ls1 vette according to that motortrend test a few years back, and i sure as hell never lost to all the many pullied 03's ive ran into...

damn wont somebody make a car i like.. if i wrecked my camaro and couldn't buy a used camaro, id prolly get a new ls2 gto..... 400hp n/a owns 465 hp sc.... b/c i can always throw a 150 shot or supercharger on that nasty ls2..

Really? Ever heard of this thing called torque? Apparently not.

What is a 400hp N/A LS1 or LS1 good for at the track? I know the answer. Do you?

Now...my '03 Cobra went 11.29 @ 121mph with only 460rwhp.

So a 400hp N/A LS1 owns a 465hp sc?

I agree, the numbers ford puts out are amazing on some of the motors, but thats with a s/c. Throw a supercharger on an ls1,2,6 etc and you'll be making much better numbers all day. Imagine a blower on an Ls7

No one can deny when it comes out, it will be an Z06 killer in the fact that the Cobra will easily outsell the Z06 Vette by a 3-to-1 margin, if not more.

Joe Q. Public will the cobra eat-up like there is no tomorrow. Few and far between will have a LS7 Z06 due to the price factor

Ford owns the market right now for sure, kind of like in the 80's, the stang was all over the GM, but in 93 that all changed. im sure gm will remove their heads from their ***'s and make a nice replacment for the camaro/firebird (i hope)
however comparing a vett and a stang is silly, the cobra bang for the buck is great, but as stated befor the power to driver ratio isnt there, many cobra owners embarris the name and make 450-500 rwhp and are running 11.!!! thats 10 second teritory. but IMO, most of it is the poor power curve and driver error.
like i said, to bad ford owns, but i have a feeling GM will rise again.

Anyone can have a bad day at the track.. I had my share (12.00 with Nitrous) and you even had your share (12.2's with Twin Turbo) so that doesn't take away from the car. Eventually all the kinks get worked out.

It's sad that GM doesn't bring back the Nova, Chevelle, or Camaro in Retro form.

Unfortunatly though, when Lutz the car guy of all car guys says nay, nay, ....... well then I would think things aren't looking to good for RWD performance in the immediate future @ GM.

I didnt say bad day, im talking bad Days as in more then one.
ive seen many cobras running high HP with **** times. i see some f-bodies doing the same thing, but it seems the f-body is in its older days now, and most people have the driving down so they drive them neer potential. but either way, the new ls7 should be nasty, but out of most people price range, but i dont think the new cobra will be 30k, id say more in the 40k range.
hhhmmmmmm, maybe my daddy will buy me a new vett!!!!! im going to ask him when he gets home from vacation! oh boy im all happy now, i bet he will by me one!!!! i cant wait.
