Default Planning to do mods, some advice/suggestions...

Hey everyone, I havea 2002 WS6 that's completely stock and I plan on modding it now that it's spring time and just the fact I need to mod it. Anyways, just looking for suggestions/tips onwhat to get/do. It's also an A4 (no wise cracks M6 guys).

I'm thinking of doing exhaust, air lid, possible y-pipe, SFC's and CAI. Now I'm not a big track guy like most of you are, but I'd like to improve performance/handling as well as get a nice mean exhaust tone.

Any suggestions on what order to do the mods in and what companies offer the best products for the best prices? Also anything that I might be missing in terms of mods feel free to chime in. Thanks

Kevin

On an A4, get a converter & tune first. Contact Slowhawk.

I don't know about the converter unless you want to go to the track.

hedders will help with the sound and performance so that would be my first then see how you like the sound of your car then decide on the catback.

get a lid, headers, cat-back, torque converter, tune from slowhawk, also LCA's panhard rod, SFC and you should be all set.

I agree with all above stated mods, converter, headers, catback, lid, and do a set of SFC's before the car gets too loose. Defiantely worth it. A set of nitto's will also help get the HP to the ground. Swaybars are a good handling mod, they don't mess with the ride quality much, and make cornering better, as fo LCA's and a PHb with poly bushings rather than the factory rubber ones.

Cam is also a good way to go when you want more power.. but keep in mind that A4 isn't the strongest tranny. But, on the other side of the fence, us M6 guys get to deal with clutch problems... and tranny issues as well if you hammer on it.

I'd also reccommend getting a PCV catch can, AMW makes a good setup. Stops alot of the oil from going in the intake.. and will help prevent buildup's down the road, and also helps prevent KR depending on how bad your car is... every one is different.

first 2 mods for any ls1 is a lid then a catback. next with an auto is gears and a stall. then work your way through the bolt ons.

Thats it Nobody can pick the exhaust you would like since everybody has different tastes. You have to listen to other people's cars and go from there.Y-pipe is a waste.
For suspension I would go lower control arms and panhard bar first.Subframes would be a nice set of BMR tubular. That will make your car feel alot tighter.

Ok thanks alot guys. What would a stall/conerter go for roughly? I've seen them for about $1500 or so. Would that be the right price range? If so I'd rather go with the smaller stuff first. Any otehr suggestions, keep them coming.

the stall converter itself should only be like $700.

Depends on what your future plans are. If you want a big cam, nitrous..... when you decide that then you get what will suit you best.
