I have run in to ******* cops, and I have run in to cops who aren't on a high horse about things.

I blazed tire one night banging sideways out of a bar... I had just picked up my friend who worked there so I wasn't drinking. Anyways a cop just happened to be in the parking lot across the street, and I didnt even see him. He pulled me over just to make sure I wasn't drunk. I didn't get a ticket or a written warning.

Another time I went full throttle from a 2 lane stop light, sort of racing another car. I slammed second (Loudmouth roarin) and just about redlined it as I flew by 2 cops parked on the side of road talking to each other. I got pulled over and he complimented my car and conveniently reminded me the speed limit was 50 LOL. No ticket or warning...

Of course I am a step 32 so you know I have dealt with some *********.

My advice is to admit you are an idiot when you get pulled over.. be completey honest. If he thinks your "not to bright are ya son?" then you say "no sir" As much as it hurts your pride to do so. Or you could get a ticket, if that's your perogative.

lol i spun 1st and 2nd infront of a cop, i thought i was screwed when the first words out of his mouth were what the **** were you thinking, and not license and reg. i answered that with a sir i wasnt thinking sir he had the look on his face, i think he expected a different answer. he gave me a real long lecture about all the things he could wright me up for and how stupid i was cause i looked right at him. told me i better not **** around in his town again. told me he wouldnt wright me up cause of my honesty and that he was a kid with a muscle car once. took my info and came back a few mins later and my buddy left his pager on and it was goin off. the cop was like WTF is that so we told him we were on the FD which started a hole new lecture about how we should set standards and how we have seen what can happen blablabla. that night sucked

What was the officers name? I ask only because I got pulled over in my Camaro on 128 North, but literally onto the grass at the offramp by 28 right in the same neighborhood. The guy's name was Risteen, and he had the same kind of no-love for the Camaro attitude. Acted as if I had personally offended him, searched the car, rolled up the windows looking for tints....just nothing but bullshit. I actually did a little background check on him and found out (at the time) that he had a couple of lawsuits pending against him by two seperate people claiming he used excessive force during arrest. I'd laugh if this was him, and for the record he never filed the paperwork for my citations and I won the case by showing up.

I'm sure he was asleep. Maybe even gettin a little "trim" when you interrupted him.

Yeah, bring up his attitude in court. Thats just what the judge wants to hear . Believe me, the judge/magistrate isn't going to care. If anything, they'll tell you to call his department and make a complaint.

BTW, if he really was rude, then call his agency and file an internal affairs complaint.

I have written more than my share of tickets. Frankly, I've yet (in 28 years of law enforcement) to figure out why some officers get so excited about traffic? I was a motor unit supervisor and still didn't get that excited about it. It's just a ticket...PERIOD!

Some take it so personally it's rediculous. It rather embarrases me when a fellow officer goes off on a citizen over traffic. If they deserve a ticket (or multiples) then write the ******' thing and move on! No reason to bitch someone out.
If the offense is so aggregious that the public was truly endangered, then toss thier asses in jail and again...move on. Dunkin Donuts is a waitin' (lol).

As far as having his name...look on the bottom of the ticket.

Oh, as for the 'ole lady? Saved her *** yesterday...today is my day to write tickets (ROFLMAO).

Good luck. Sounds easy enough to handle, just be cool about it.

I understand that's how it works so we unbadged have to deal with it. But it is bs because I just read that as, you used your badge to eliminate another cop's quota point to get your wife out of trouble so you have to make up for it by writing more tickets and giving someone that you otherwise wouldn't have, trouble. How do you sleep at night? Well probably better since your old lady owes you one, but how will you sleep tomorrow night when she goes bitchy again for something you can't fix this time? lol. If I get some bs ticket tonight I'm blaming it on you shadow

You know, I've had my share of tickets and then some. I have gotten off when I was guilty as hell. I have also had a cop save my life before. They have a job to do. How do you know he did not have to go to someone's parents house and tell them their child is not comming home because they were street racing, or someone recless driving killed a mom and 3 kids on her way home?

Bottom line, you Fucked up. You were wrong and you know it. I know your pissed and want to rant, but take it like a man and move on.

Funny how a cop's a dick when you are the one in cuffs & he's a hero when the "Bad Guy" is in cuffs?

Sorry man, I mailed the citation in for my hearing request. His name is on the receipt I got from Woburn District, if I can find it I'll let you know. First name is Daniel. Total disrespect. Don't get me wrong, like any Camaro driver I've gotten bagged once or twice trying to be a hotshot and I'd admit it if this was the case. This was not one of them....me and 4 friends met up in Burlington, my Camaro and 1 friends car, and where meeting back up in Wakefield afterwards. The one guy with the only other car wanted a ride in mine, so he let the other two take his car. We left first and got a head start in the Camaro, and I saw a Statey on 128 about 1/2 mile ahead. I had been doing maybe 5 over the whole time (I had been getting real bad vibes and was playing it cool), and our friends in the other car left 2 or 3 minutes after us and where way behind. I locked the cruise at 60ish to avoid incident. We see our friends BLAZING up behind us, and there was no way to warn them about the iminent doom....they burned by us at 90+ trying to show me up and where bagged right ahead of us. That car's registration had expired mere days prior....we honestly didn't know this...the owner being in my car (still unaware he had no reg on his car) wanted me to get off the highway and backtrack backroads, get back on 128, and drive by to make sure it was cool, fearing they'd think his car was stolen when the names didn't match, arrest our friends and seize his car. Our stupid friends where getting the car towed, a backup unit was already on the scene as we drove by. The driver got a legit "95 in a 55, Marked Lanes Violation, and Failure to Signal" to the tune of $500+ and I don't deny the driver desperately deserved it. However our friends explained the whole situation to the officers, with something to the effect of, "We're with the guy in that Camaro that just drove by again, the owner's in the car, can we call them to come back and pick us up instead of having to go to the station or walk?". We pieced together how this played out with the guys after the fact....but when they said this Risteen jumped in his car and went barrelling after us. Pulled us over, claimed we had been drag racing them the whole time, where also doing 90+ (which was a complete lie by a factor of 30+ mph), ripped the car apart, searched everything, looked for any possible illegality on the car...cited me $250, while the other officer had my buddy's car towed. I can only find one now...but here's one story relating to his lawsuit.
Police Brutality
Ironically here's another story that came up about him and Matt Damon frisking each other to prep Damon for an upcoming movie. Figures, he couldn't seem to keep his hands off me either.

you say it like i came on here saying i was innocent of everything i did. the name of the thread is "I suck" meaning i know i fucked up. and im not pissed at the cop cuz he gave me a ticket, i was pissed because of the way he went about it. and more than anything the fact that he kept me there 45 minutes longer than he had to. i fucked up yea, so give me my ticket and we'll both move on. no need to bust my ***** and keep my there waiting while he talks to his buddy. ive been pulled over plenty of times and have never seen a cop act like this guy did. i think you misunderstood what i was trying to say, so relax

Honestly dave, I'd like to see if the shoe was on your foot in this case with griff, because I HIGHLY doubt you would be saying that statement to yourself. It took griff some ***** to be able to sit there quietly while the cop was badmouthing him for that prolonged period of time while giving him tickets totalling over $1000...

Like I said, I've been there. Many many times. One time ending with me getting hit w/ a PR-24 (Police Batton) Charges were dropped after I signed a statment saying I was not hit. Some cops are dicks, others are just people.

It is all part of his job. They actually train them to be Dicks in the police acadmy. They deal with the worst part of society everyday. Being a dick and not giving you time to talk is a way of keeping in control of the situation.

And in general a lawyer will get you off, or at least a lesser offence. As for judges they do not want excuses for what you did and why you did it. They want you to realise you made a mistake. Lawyers know this and know exactly what to say.

As for it taking Griff some ***** to just sit there while the cop was yelling at him. That was good judgement, not *****.

Off my soapbox now.

Ok, it seems there was a miscommunication. But before you pick and choose your responses and start spouting off about what an ******* I am, and even more so, about my "ole lady", you might want to go back and RE-READ the ENTIRE freakin' post! Jesus!

I understand how you might have misunderstood my response, but reading the entire post would have clarified the matter entirely. Just in case, let me help you out:

Better? Let me help you (the "unbadged", as you put it) with a little history.

As a motor cop, my partner and I responded to a bank robbery in progress a few miles from where we were running a radar post. I chased this F-Tard through several neighborhoods and down sidewalks, all the time he remained ARMED, gun in one hand, bank bag in the other.

Took him down on a sidewalk without firing a shot.

The very next day, I'm writing a lady a ticket for 40+ over the posted limit, on a 2 laned residential street just a block or so from the bank. She bitched me out the entire time I was writing the ticket. I just continued to smile and write and kept my mouth shut. At the end, she said, why don't you go out and catch some "REAL" criminals?

I politely looked at her and said...ma'am, did you read about the bank robbery yesterday (pointing in the direction of the bank), and the arrest of the robber?

She says...YES!

I said...That was me, Today's my day to write tickets.....Please sign here....

I guess you'd have no way of knoing that but it's kind of a common cop joke. Guess it's just for the "badged"

All I was trying to do in my original post was agree with Griff that some cops can be dicks but we're not all that way and offer whatever help I could to him.

Griff I wish you the best.

By the way, next time you have a beef with me, please be man enough to bring it to me and leave my "ole lady" out of it.

Thanks
