Thumbs down Oh No, NO A/C

Well my air conditioner stopped working today in my Trans Am, Now when I turn it on it makes a real bad noise especailly when you get higher in the RPMs... and just 10 days out of warrenty GREAT! Well has anyone on here had to replace there compressor, let me know if you have and what kind of money I'm looking at.... Oh and they say today is gonna be the hottest day of the year what a nice gift to get on my birthday...

10 days out of warranty, that's so lame.

I've been driving my little 4 cycl Chevy Cav around without A/C. Yesterday in Quincy it was 95 but the humidity was something like 27%. It was actually fine, even sitting in traffic under the sun. Once the humidity gets higher it's brutal.

Check the AC clutch assembly. Sometimes a bearing goes in it, and you don't need to replace the compressor. Just did one in my truck.
good luck
