Hard to say because it's still pretty new. If you search enough you will find someone bitchin about every clutch out there. I run a spec 3I and have had no problems at the track. I think I read a thread about some problems with the Textralia a while back but like I said..if you search enough you will find someone bitchin about every clutch out there

For the price of a textrailia i would definatly go with something proven.... i mean even if it lasts just a little bit longer then a spec 3.... id rather pay $400 for a spec that is proven than $900 for something that is new to the market and hasnt really been tested on the track on a serious setup

the textralia isn't too much money more because it includes everything..the spec clutch is $400 but add in a flywheel and misc stuff and you're looking at close to the same price once you're done. Like what was stated before you're gonna hear good and bad about every clutch out there because not everyone breaks them in properly, installs them properly and sometimes these clutches require supporting parts that people just overlook buying and then they fail.

I've had good luck with my Textralia so far, no complaints, great clutch. There's a few thread on it in the manual transmission forum, about 95% of the people haven't had a problem. The customer service from them is really top notch...they followed up with a phonecall a couple weeks after I bought it to ask how it was working. The guy even gave me his cell number so if I had any install questions I could call him at any time.

I had a spec 3 x-pad, it was working well until it decided to weld itself to the flywheel at the track. That was with only 6k miles and about 30 passes. A little bit of chatter, but it was an on/off switch. The Textralia is much smoother, and doesn't mind being slipped. The Spec cost me ~$650 for clutch, pp and flywheel. The Textralia was $949, with all that plus a new slave, TO bearing, and pilot bearing. So I figure as long as the Textralia last 9k miles, I come out ahead.

oh okay, im didnt know it came with the flywheel and stuff... so your really only looking in about $200 more than a spec setup

thats nice to hear, but the question is how is the clutch going to hold up to 5k launches on a hoosier or M/T

That may not have been his vette. He works on a lot of vette's. I think Mike (PUREVL) is right.

i am pretty sure slowhawk has tested a couple different clutches and puts them through abuse to see which holds...

Well I went to the track once with it, and it held 5k launches on M/T Drag Radials. I know, not the same and I was only cutting 1.7s. Although my Spec 3 didn't hold when I did it. Or, well actually it held too well, lol.

It'll get a bit more of a beating on the rental day.

We killed a Spec III in a 12.00 Camaro. It worked great for 60 runs and then took a powder.Car only makes 375RW,we just installed the Z07 clutch/pp and LS2 flywheel in the same car. Will see how this does in the car..
