A4 tranny deep pan?

A4 tranny deep pan?
I searched through some old posts and found these part numbers, for a drain pan that hold an extra quart w/drain plug off silverados etc. And the filter required. I searched on gm parts direct and the filter comes up but the pan does not, can anyone verify if these numbers are good, and if this combination is a good idea to go with on my tranny? Thanks

just get a B&M pan. holds an extra 3-4 quarts has integrated cooling fins and has a drain plug and call it a day like 165 bucks. god knows how much a OEM truck tranny pan costs, and it will only hold 1 quart more compared to 4. just my .02 cents.

with the cooler in a good spot, the extra fluid isnt as importain as the drain plug lol
but the B+M is probably cheeper then the gm oem pan.
tim, just take it off my dads truck, lol he wont know.

well my point for the pan isnt cooling issues, its for convenience. My tranny temps hardly go above 150-160, im pretty happy with that. I just hate the thought of dropping the pan to do fluid changes, a drain plug would make my life so much easier. And with the truck pan i dont lose any clearance under the car, and an extra qt of fluid wont hurt. Thats what i was thinking, and it costs half as much as a b&m

I have the truck pan as well and I agree that with a good cooler it's all ya really need...the only down side to that drain plug is that you won't get all of the fluid in the pan out (and of course you NEVER get all of the fluid inside the trans/TC out) because the way the hole is 'funneled' inside it actually steps up before it drains down but you'll get most of it our and it's still way more convenient/less messy than dropping the pan.

Well tranny fluid is cheap, and with the plug it'll be easy to do. So i can change it as often as the oil with out a hassle if i wanted to, and with the constant new fluid it should keep everything fresh, even if everything doesnt drain out. Once a season drop the pan and do the filter, etc.

went to get the pan today and the new style doesnt come with a drain plug They replaced the part number with a new style and it does not have a plug, i was pissed. Noyzee hooked me up and we put a plug in my stock pan though, should work good Got some other goodies to play with tomorrow to, see if we can improve on that throttle response
