NJ: Collectors insurance?? How do I get?
I remember seeing a few posts on this on the other old forum about getting collectors insurance for our cars in NJ, and that there was no inspection or inspection sticker on the front window.
Anyone know the driving requirements and how to get it??
Thanks!

get the insurance from haggerty.com
NJ will give you triangle shaped inspection sticker once you show them the proof of insurance. you are limited to 3000 miles per year and they check every other year. you go to inspection, they check the miles, ask you to drive around the block to make sure the odometer works, and thats it basically. no emission check.

What is the process to go about doing this. I called NJ Mfg Ins and they said they never heard of the collector insurance, just classic for the 10yr and older cars.

i know some people have just registered their cars as collector cars and didn't even have to prove any special insurance requirements - not everyone gets away with it tho, but your golden if they register you, they'll never check when you go to renew it
if you are trying to get around inspection, try that first - if you are trying to pay less for insurance, then i guess you have to go the insurance route then - there's far more rules dealing with collector insurance than dealing with collector registration
