Dracut PD sent me a ticket for Fridays accident!
I am going to fight it but do not know how far I'll get.
I was born in '60, not '69.
I am also the owner, don't know if that matters.
I was wearing my seat belt, & told the officer that when she asked.
I was not clocked on radar, the police did not show up until called.
The "skid marks" are what I told the officer was when the tires broke free when I mashed the gas.
And it's a secondary road, there is technically no right or left lane.
Here's the ticket, I don't care who knows my name or my address:
And here's the the tire marks:
So what do you guys think my chances are?

That's one hell of a sneeze Butch. . . Those lines are long.
I think you'll be able to get off the citation. Cops really like to **** things up when they write them after the scene is cleared!! They like to change the story around or they simply don't remember enough!!!!
Good luck with it all man.

Yeah, I wrote while turning a corner as that's what I remembered Friday, right after the accident.
The next day I did remember shifting into 2nd, but C'mon, no one, & I mean no one, would tear into it on a side road with cars on the road & even an inexperienced driver would let off if they were "dumping it".
I'll say it this way for the doubting "thomas's" after the 2nd sneeze when my foot mashed the throttle my eyes opened to the sight of a cement wall.
I don't know if it was shock or what but as I remember now, I could not lift & kept my foot firmly planted.
Next thing I remember was a "boom" sound, then me frantically trying ti get out of the car.
Oh, & if I did something wrong, why would I be so forthcoming & post pics?

With the info you posted up, someone can do ALOT of damage. Trust me.

you probably wouldve been in alot worse shape if you werent wearing a seatbelt...if they didnt show up till after the accident how did they get you on radar not to mention will all the spinnage i doubt you were going 40+mph at least until you caught traction & went offroading

I will say the pics/story combo do not add up in the slightest, but I won't be quick to judge since I know things like that happen so fast it's tough to remember and accidents (both auto and household/personal/mishaps in general) usually are a bizarre, freak set of circumstances that make zero sense when explained to others.
The one thing I would do, is challenge the ticket and when you go to court the officer will tell their side of the story first. Hopefully this involves some BS version of the radar reading....then I would have ready either a statement from whoever called the police, or your cellphone record if it was you. Also, since the collision was fairly violent if the seatbelts left any bruises or markings I might take some pictures. But hopefully just proving the officer wasn't there until well after the fact, that aspect will be a non-issue.
Also, I'm in neighboring Tewksbury so if you're liquidating any go-fast goodies to cut your losses keep us posted. Good luck.

Butch...... I'm not sayin' a thing.
You know what Nautilus, It was weird when I asked the doctor to prescribe me some new rear tires for my allergies this spring. Or maybe it was the smoke that was making me sneeze, oh well I forget.
Regardless of what happened Butch, it sucks man. You'll get another car, live and learn I guess.

I'm sure that the ticket can be reduced/dismissed.... but, those marks in the road are not telling the story that you are that I am sure of.
What I am seeing there, is you were goofing around, did a nice holeshot, and probabloy did sneeze in the middle of doing it, and that caused you to lose it into the concrete wall....... the black box in the car will probably be able to tell a little better story then any of us can predict, as the last 20 seconds before an airbag depolyment are recorded.... I'd be more intrested to see that, or in your case, hope your insurance company doesn't see that.

I cant see the ticket here since I am at work but I had a similar situation happen to me when I was 17. I totalled my 97 camaro and the cop actually called me a few days later to tell me to come to the station and pick up a ticket that was waiting there for me. I was appauled that he asked me to come pick it up. Anyway, I told him no way because I had no car to drive there, and that he could drop it off. The cop never dropped it off, so I don't think they are too strict with those types of tickets, especially since they were never there to see it. Anyway, good luck

butch, if those marks are in the report you dont stand a chance in hell. what did you get charged with because the judge will prob want to throw reckless driving, drag racing and speeding in a residental zone. i cant see the ticket pic.
the cop writes all of that stuff up that they saw when they got on site. get yourself a good lawyer.
