Default LVD was awesome today!

Gorgeous July weather. No humidity. NEW tree and time lights. I got in for free (I had a free pass from last season why they shut down early). The track was prepped very well. And everyone I went with had new bests!

My buddy with his 00 Camaro SS auto (intake/exhaust) ran a 13.2 @ 103
Nick's SRT-4 went 12.9 @ 108 on a stock turbo, and theres a little more in it
I hit my best ever by half a second.
I ran a 12.49 @ 111.8 with a 1.74 60'! Finally getting my 60' better. And that was my 4th run! Now I just have to work on my shifting and do a little better on the 60' and I'm sure it will be 11's. And now since I've done it, I know what exactly to do and how to improve. Now I just have to get some practice BTW- I love these tires!

Beat the BF Steph, Good job. Nice 60'. MPH seems low for your power level. You'll hit 11's with practice.

I also run the ET streets (I had 117s on drag radials). MPH will go up with better shifting, though
EDIT- I also was shifting at a lower RPM. I changed my shift light 400 rpms lower until I get used to shifting better

The more time you spend going down the track the better you will improve. Good luck hitting your goals

Not sure where you had the shift light before... but it sounds like it helped. Those tires are a vast improvment over nitto's and the like too.... now sure what size/rim dia. you went with... but it doesn't matter to a point... they grab so much better then nitto's that it's not even funny.

And remember... ET wins races, not MPH

thanks guys. I don't really think changing the shiftlight helped much because after changing it i was still running low 13s. It was the 60'. I was launching pretty low before(3K-4K), and had 2.0-2.2 60's. Then I started launching at 5K-5.5K and slipped the clutch just slightly and thats when I started cutting 1.83 and then 1.74. I was going to go a little more aggressive but ran out of time. I am going to practice shifting before I go again and then maybe shift higher.

Best luck I ever had with my car was letting the clutch out really fast and having the revs up at about 6000... not side steping it, but releasing as fast as I can move my foot. Best 60 foot I ended up with was a 1.69, resultign in a 12.21@114.97.... problem I was having after gettign that down was the car would unload the tires as the front suspension set back down, or bog at that point. with the tires at 13 psi, it would spin about 50 feet out as the front end set back down, or with 12 or less PSI, it would bog at that point.... I think it was the stock shocks letting the weight transfer back too quick. The hal r series fornt shocks and 12 way rears were gonna hopefully solve that... then I found the deal on the th400, so I figured that would fix it 100%, then the motor decided to go south.. now I guess another 120 hp more will solve it LOL.

A little more pratice and you'll have it into the 11's.. not bad for a full weight car (only 1/2 driver weight though.. you're little)

hehe **** happens. Full weight car except the jack (I left it at LVD last year-oops), full weight person too. I am small height wise but I haven't been this heavy in my whole life. I need to weigh my car. I bet its somewhere around 3900 with me in it.

Awesome, congrats on the new best! You guys definitely had one of the best days of the summer to race. We were in Binghamton and Saturday was gorgeous, high 70s and bone dry. Can't ask for much more out of a NY summer day. Wish I could've gone

Thats ok though, waiting for my bogarts, ET drags, and skinnies to come in anyways. Then hopefully at long last tag an 11.

I doubt your car is 3900 with you in it.... mine last year was 3730 with me in it with everything in it, that's with slp frame connectors (heavy) 12 bolt, only thigns that were out at the time was the spare and jack.

Not like that anymore though LOL.

Nice runs, congrats on the new best! I was down there too. I was the kid that kept screwing up (couldn't stage right, didn't strap my helmet right, shitty reactions) in the red SS. Best run of a 13.44 @ 103, I was happy with it, since I'm bone stock on E.T. Streets, considering it was my first time ever to a strip.
