I gotta question about some rims.. can anyone help?
The rims and tires section doesnt seem too helpful....
I want to get some z06 rims, w/the widest tire possible. they come with 295 35 ZR18 for the back and 265 40 ZR17 for the front. im going to have 275's put on the front, because thats stock, and for the back i CAN get a 335 30 ZR18, but i wasnt sure if that tire will fit on the back? if not wut do i have to do to make it fit???
thanks in advance!

I believe your going to need the 18 x 10.5 wheels or something like that for the tires to fit, and even then you will either have to get spacers or trim the fender well a little so that they dont rub...dont quote me on that but I was looking at the same tires before I sold my car and I believe thats what they were telling e if I remeber correctly.

The tire fitment chart at the top (sticky) has most of the answers you are looking for in the tire and wheel section. I used to run 315's when I had the Boyds... I think any wider than that would look stupid.

A 315 will fit, use an 11" wheel. I run 295/35/18s on an 18x10. Minor rubbing issues @ stock height. I'm lowered 2+" inches now so I had to trim the outer fender wells.
Make sure you are buying the correct offset wheels for one. Two; realize that with a 335/30/18 tire you're going to make some modifications to the inner, and outer fender well.
A hammer may do the trick on the inside. If you're lowered you're definately going to have to cut/roll the outer fender. At stock height, you may still have issues under heavy cornering/a load in the vehicle.
If you're wanting to go the easy route, that's not it. A 315 is a big meat, I'd avoid the issues and go that route.
Besides, a 335 is only cool if you need it. And you really don't....
Check out the wheels/tires forum for more info. As '02 SLP stated, there are a bunch of stickies at the top of the forum with a ton of FAQs, and technical info.

Haha oh ok, wasnt sure if you had the wheels already and were asking what size you should get. Sorry bout that, yea as someone else said your going to have to do some wheel well and fender mods to make them fit...but I say just use the BFH trick lol.

Same width... A 295mm tire is going to be just that. Doesn't matter what the wheel size is, technically the width should be universal. 295mm = 11.61 inches
However, Nittos 295, may not be as wide as Michelins 295 for whatever reason. But on paper, they should be the same size. Get what I'm saying? Not all Manufacturers are perfect, kind of like shoe size...
You're confusing the width with sidewall/aspect ratio. The sidewall number, is based on a percentage of the tires width.
For example, if you have a 245/50/16. That 50 is the aspect ratio. Which in that case would be 50% of the tires 245mm width. So measuring from the bead, to the top of the sidewall would be 122.5mm.
Most people confuse the aspect ratio, not knowing what it is. It's usually mistaken as a measurment in millimeters. It's not...
Any more questions?

If you had 295s on a 17 inch rim and 295s on an 18 inch rim, assuming they are the same height, the 17s will bulge out a little more but that's about the only difference.

Ex. 17x10 , 18x10
A 295/35/17, and a 295/35/18 have the same sidewall height, 4.06". They are also the same width, 11.61". The only difference is the 18" combo is an inch taller obviously.

How did those Boyde's work out? Did they rub or did the car bottom out on them over bumps? Any mods needed to run them?

Im running 275/45/17 on my car and you seen what it looks like not too bad, ive got the z06 rims 17/9.5". When its on the lift the rear tires barely clear the bump stop.
When im turning the front tires barely clear the plastic in the fender up front.

I ordered a set of his forged "tuned" wheels, and they were ******* garbage. The lug holes still had large burs of metal, as well as the valve stem holes.
One of them came to me bent to ****, brand new in box.
Overpriced, and the quality was rediculous. I'd stay away from them.
