now what to do about my parking situation. I want to be able to park in the garage because it's heated. BUT, if i have to let the truck run for several minutes before and after driving, that's gonna be a problem.

i went out tonight and let it idle for about 5min. the garage was filled with exhaust. I stunk of exhaust so bad just from walking out there that i had to change my clothes when i got back home. I was thinking of rigging up some sort of hose to vent the exhaust out a window or something.

any other thoughts?

They make flexable rubber exhaust tubing.I would back in the truck and cut a hole through the wall just big enough for this tube and support it (so if you drive off it just pulls off the pipe)This is how we dyno'd it at the shop with the door closed on cold days.

Any H/C type of vehicle will do what yours is doing. The cold weather makes it alot worse in smell and fumes.

If you dont want to cut a hole in your garage they make the things that go in the windows for portable ac units.

Good to see the truck is running good.

Lol.

Dan if you are considering a remote starter. Check out the Bulldog security Delux 500. It has a turbo cool down timer built into it. Basicly you stick the truck in P shut off ignition, take your keys, and walk away. The timer will shut the truck off after 5 minutes or whatever you set it at. You can get them off ebay for $80, it's a really nice two way radio start set up.

I was seriously thinking of doing this. I wonder how hard it would be to wire? the *** clown who raped me on my stereo install said they literally take him 30min tops to install. He wanted $500

if you touch a single wire on that truck adding one more electronic piece of crap... you get what you deserve, I'm sorry.

That thing is an electrical fire waiting to happen..... you should be looking to take electronic stuff out to help allievate the problems, not add more.

Don't be lazy, go outside, start the truck and let it warm up. Or, park it in the garge and put a tube on the exhaust and deal with that.

Dan they are so easy to put in. If you can **** with Eboost and your fuel pump, you can do a remote start. You can buy an inline harness so you don't have to splice any of the essentials like the ignition and main power. The power door lock hook up, and security bypass is super easy too. The Bulldog set up comes with complete instructions and a DVD. They tell you all the wires you need to splice and where to find them.

Mehh...just don't park it in the garage, then if it burns, it burns. Let it go and cut your losses.

j/k

BTW: I remember the truck being fucked after your stereo install, but it sounds like Turbo Zone did alot of rewiring? Without opening a can of worms WTF did they do, seems like the wiring should have been pretty simple???

see, here's the thing. I thought the audio guy had done something fucked up with my wiring. He didn't. He actually didn't do ****. What seems to have happened was, my alternator and battery were dying/dead. I was throwing a P0102 code and couldn't figure out why. Truck kept going into limp mode. I'm pretty sure this was due to the fact that i had a failing alt. This is also the reason why when turbozone tried to drive the truck from RI to NY it died on the side of the road.

There are some bad wiring jobs in the truck but they are mine. little **** like the mirror blinkers and the tailgate lock etc. The wires on the pcm that were cut/spliced whatever were dont years and years ago by the guy who initially installed my whipple. I did a bad job hooking those wires back up. When i said bad job, i mean, not pretty.

So, I don't think hooking up a remote starter would be a horrible idea. I wanted one ever since i bought the truck but just haven't done it yet. We'll see. It's just a thought.

Back on the subject of the truck and how it runs. I let it warm up in the parking lot tonight for a solid 10min. Then i drove for 4-5mi without going into boost. As soon as i got on the highway i passed the car in front of me. 40-90 happens very fast. holy ****. lol
