March 3rd Cheese Steak Run
Who: EFA and a few other stragglers from other forums.
What: Cruise for the Real Deal Cheese Steaks in Philly.
When: March 3rd 2007 3:30pm till ?
Where: Northeast Philadelphia
Bustelton & Cottman Avenues (at the Roosevelt Mall)
215-333-JIM'S
We will be meeting up at the Muvico in the Arundal Mills Mall Parking lot @ 12pm. Leaving promptly at 1pm.
ETA to Philadelphia should be 3pm with no delays or traffic.
What to bring: You will need toll money. On the way up there are 3 tolls. The tunnel is $3.00 and two other random tolls that consist of $5.00 and another $3.00.
On the way back there is only two tolls of $3.00 and the tunnel $3.00.
There are plenty of rest stops on the way up there. And I know the area well.
Directions: If for some reason you are late, or already live in Philadelphia, Pa, New Jersey or New York this is our route from Maryland: http://www.mapquest.com/directions/...&panelbtn=2
Here is Jim's Website: http://www.jimssteaks.com/ The phone number and interesction are listed above. Jim's is a black and silver building. You'll smell the steaks
After: Once we finish eating it's up to you what you want to do. I already talked to some cops and they don't care what we do as long as we're not doing burnouts and stuff. Philly cops are pretty easy going especially with muscle cars. But don't get on thier bad side.
I plan on staying in the city that night. So that means going out down town later that night. Maybe going to the races, I dunno yet. I'll be happy to give directions and ideas if getting s-faced isn't your cup of tea but you want to see the city.

if you want a chain steak, steve's prince of steaks is the best. jim's is ok, not bad, not great.
who has the absolute best steaks is an eternal philly argument. i am not gonna get in it, i can say there are at least 5 places you can go and get awesome steaks.
you know the place is good and you order like this "one with and american cheese" if a proper steak comes out(american cheese, fried peppers and onions) then you know you are in a real steak shop. if you have to stand there andspell out the order, run away!!!! cause itis gonna suck

northshore boston style cheesesteaks are pretty damn good, but i've been to Pat's 3 times now. in fact, when i moved to TX, i detoured my entire trip to go to Pats!!! and i did that in a 16ft Penske truck... ya, just imagine parking that thing in that neighborhood around pats!

pats is alright and so is genos and jims.. pats is better then the other two. However either choice is a big fail in my book. Mamas is just a minute or two down 76 and its the absolute best. Dallesandros is a close second (right nearby Mamas). I may meet up with you guys because ill probably be hungry

Nobody should be going to Lukes for cheese stakes anyway the Pork sandwich is what they are known for. Little provolone and some broccoli raab and you got one helluva meal.

i'd go to the steve's steaks which is about 1 block from the jim's you mentioned.
i'll be at atco during the day, but i'd roll down and meet up in northeast philly later that night if people wanted to. if people are going to sw philly then count me out- waste of time/gas/effort going down there.
