Seriously, its not that hard of a job.

I am not from the area but I just wanted to throw it out there. I am assuming places like TTP would work on the LT1, since its still a 4th gen.

Wicked easy DIY swap. Its just a dead motor that needs to be unbolted and replaced (and often on these cars). The dealer messed up my door mounting locations and caused damage. I'll never let them touch my car windows again.

Buy a ~50$ replacement one at Autozone. You get a lifetime warranty on it. Next time it dies, bring in the dead one and get a free one. One less thing to worry about on the car.

It's just about the simplest fix/repair anyone can do.
I did one and showed my 14 year old, he did the other one.

If you're skeered, go to a reputable glass shop. Most have respectable techs that are familiar w/window motors/glass tracks and adjustment procedures on all brand cars. For the most part, dealer techs don't know squat about auto glass procedures....WJ

I got a brand new motor on ebay for $14.00 (made in USA, and has a warrenty as well as a garuntee that it will work just as good if not better than the OEM one), and will be using this site again for the install http://shbox.com/page/windowmotor.html

This will be window motor number 3 for me (This is the 3rd F-body I have owned, and will be the 3rd consecutive one that needed a new window motor). It isn't too bad as long as you drill out the spots as dictated in the write up. IMO, its better than paying the dealer $170 per install that I originally got quoted.

any speed shop should be able to do it also. the lowest i got quoted was 125 for just the labor, so i just did it myself. the only problem i had was getting the new one in, but as soon as i realized that there is a tiny hole in the bracket thats on the door that the cog on the motor sticks into, i got it. the other thing was that i had a weak drill and the rivets werent coming out, so i just used an Aul and a hammer, one hit and they popped right out.

yeah the hardest part was the crappy drill and dull bits....It would have went a lot smoother if I had better ones.

Once its out though, its an easy swap from then on. The rivets can be annoying at first. You only have to deal with screws and nuts after that

We are not in central NJ, but we are in north nj. We have done numerous window motor jobs. THe price is $175 includes the rivets, you can provide or I can get you pricing on the window motor from gm.
