Default Spring maintanence reminder

Since everybody is getting there cars out I figure'd this shoiuld be posted. Here is a list of the most common problems I see due to the lack of maintanence and ussually affects the way the car runs.

1- Clean the Mass air meter.Take it apart and clean the metal element with Mass air cleaner or carefully with a towel(watch out for the resistors).
2- Air filters -if ussing a K+N put very little oil (or none).Too much will go onto the MA and cause the car to run lean at WOT.
3- Fuel filter -Replace it if it has over 25k on it or for a piece of mind.A clogged filter can cause fuel pressure to drop under load.
4- Clean grounds -This is becoming a very populer problem since the cars are getting old.The connections get weak and cause alot of problems. It is also the main reason if your 02's are lazy on switching. Take off the driver side and pass side, sand down the contact point and reinstall.

That should do it

I actually did most of that . Cleaning the MAF and throttle body made a HUGE difference too! The car feels like it gained more HP, hehe

Which grounds are you talking about? The one on the rear of the driver's side head or the two on the front of each wheel well?

IIRC the GM part number is 25121942, or at the store AC #GF627. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks for the reminder Slow, I gotta change mine and do the contacts.

Good advice.

I clean my MAF twice a year with electronics cleaner from Radioshack.

I need to check my grounds, my driver side O2 always throws insuffient switching every month or so. Replacing it only seems to help for and extra month. I think it just heats up to slow.

I bought vette o2's and never had a light or code since the header install, I was told they heat up quicker. COuld be an idea.
