Default Got the car back

Picked the car up from Eastside and she feels great, the 4.11's makes a huge diff, even in bolt on form. I rev 70 at 2k which is like 400 more then stock. She gets up and goes quick.

She is cooling off now and will be ready for the track on friday. The prediction is 12.4 @ 111, now its going to be warm so who knows what will happen.

The gears are quiet and the rear is not doing that lock up non-sense. I looked at the diff, its sealed but you can look down where the axles go and nothing there, no chunks, I assume its some clip or sping.

Just wanted to give thanks out to Sean, Alfred, and Kenny for the great work.

Great to hear you got her back and she's running well! I can't wait to get mine back...

I would like to know how you expect to shave off 4 tenths and gain 3-4 mph just from the gear swap. I can see you shaving off some major time with a decent burnout and the 4.10s now as compared to last time, but how are you going to pick up that much up top? You trapped 107 last time? Or 108? That's a big gain. You better drive the hell out of her! Good luck!

Personally, I would very much like to see a low 12 with a trap of 115 for myself (I dream big, no reason not to except disappointment, haha ). I guess we'll see how much Nittos, 4.10s, and the torque arm help compared to the street tires and 3.73s with no traction from last time. The beefy driveshaft and 12-bolt are going to hurt my power a bit, but I should MUCH more than make up for that loss being able to actually launch the car and have traction in first and second gear.

Here's to a great drag day!

BS I see the car running 12.5 with the heat we're gonna have Friday, but that's still a good improvment, at a fast track in the fall that would be a 12.3, damn good for a heavy bolton car.

Pewter your car hooks decent and you drive the ***** out of that thing, and I see 11.5 to 11.7, it's making enough pwr, just have to get it to leave right, and drive like you stole it

Jay - When your car was cammed it was making a little over 400 rwhp, correct? What times were you running then and on what tires? 12-bolt at the time? Just trying to get an idea of similarly powered cars and times. Gives me something to practice and aim for. Thanks!

I figure I left about 2 tenths on the table from the last day, due to launching the car and tire psi. The then gears should shave another 2 ontop of that, ill take a lil weight out, the simple things. Its going to be hot, im going to focus on 60 foot and 1/4 et, the mph may stay the same but if they do on a 20 degree hotter day, then I cant complain.

12.2 was the best I ever did but I can't drive stick for crap... anyone that can drive stick got in that car that weigh's 150 lbs like an average person it probably would have gone 11.x I think.

Yea, there has got to be a certain willingness to frag the tranny to make it run quick.

At this point, I'm not willing to do that yet. I want to see some decent times, but I am willing to sacrifice those times for keeping my tranny in one piece since it was just rebuilt. Once I've been racing it for a while and that becomes a last resort to shave more time off, I will start power shifting. But I don't want to have to upgrade to that Viper T56 anytime soon, not right after the 12-bolt purchase.

just run the car up to 6800 and as you put the clutch in, just let off the gas enough so it doesn't hit the limiter, and as you let the clutch out put the go pedal back to the floor.... sounds hard but it keeps the revs up, but you're not powershifting it. I understand how you feel, I was the same way when I had the stick in my car I didn't want to break it (never mind having to have it towed home) so I never really power shifted either.... but you should still be able to muster a 11.99 out of it if the car hooks good and it's decent weather/track conditions. I think the track tomorrow will be fine, but it's gonna be a little HOT to be getting any record breaking runs in I think.
