i went to college, the ranger school, up there. about 1hr east of ft. drum. there really is NOTHING up there but woods. not many f-bodies. salt is heavily used 8 months out of the year, and cars rust up like you wouldnt believe. theres a dirt track somewhere up there. i think the Busch North series runs around syracuse maybe. no such thing as a drag strip around there.

There's a dirt track in Brewerton which is just north of Syracuse, and another up on (Route 11 I think?) just north of watertown, probably not more than 20 minutes from there.
Also there's the ETSA, or ESTA, or some E-acronym 1/4 mile strip just to the north of Syracuse. Not the greatest of tracks but it works. You don't have to go all the way to LVD. Also I think there's an 1/8th mile strip near Rochester.
Good luck up there, its a tough area to have a nice car. I spent 4 years 1 hour east in Potsdam at school (Clarkson). When my old man lived in Syracuse during that time I used to pass through Ft. Drum quite a bit on the way down.

dunno wat all these ppl are saying about NO TRACKS near watertown...Esta drag strip is in North Syracuse, which from watertown would be about a 30-45minute drive (depending how fast u go on 81
) Its only a few miles off exit 30 (i think) on RT 81
If you're looking for an LSx friendly shop, one of my buddies acquantiances just had his 98 formula twin turbo'd...the place is called Turbo Zone...I dunno where he's specifically located and cant really speak to the quality of work he does
Otherwise, you're gonna have to look west. I plan on getting my car dynotuned at New Era Performance which is in Rochester. From CUSE its about an hour (lil less) of a drive, but itd be around 2 from Ft. Drum--then again its a VERY easy drive (rt 81s to 90e aka NYS thruway)
Theres a lil bit of a night scene here in CUSE, at "the boulevard"--mostly ricers tho
Every summer tho theres the syracuse nationals at the nys fair. MUSCLE car heaven!!!! but you already missed it ![Sad](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_sad.gif)
Hope that helps a bit!

Good luck!!! Bring a good snowblower and garage your F-body. Buy a cheap winter rat and dream of June(spring time) I spent 2 years on that border, just remember it doesn't snow at -20 below (Feb)
