Default What Nitrous setup do you have

I currently have a head and cam set up. I was considering forging the bottom end, go to 383ci, and putting a supercharger on. It was going to cost roughly 16000.00. However the supercharger is overly priced in my opinion. What would i be looking at price and power wise if i just forged the bottom end, and put nitrous on it. I believe it would be alot cheaper then supercharging. So what nitrous set ups do you guys have?

it all depends what your looking for. with the right 383 set up and a 200-250 shot you will have no issues at all, and make an easy600-700 rwhp.

if you are keeping it 200 or less a plate kit is the way to go. (250 is ok as well) after thst direct port.

but nitro dave has a very very slick plate kit i ran one on my car and i would deffinetly get another one. we also run it on my cousins car. it is an A++ kit for sure.

it isnt cheep to do it right, for a nast set up with guages ect you will be spending 1500-2000 less then a charger thats for sure. hehe

thats the power range and price range i'd like to be in. supercharger kit alone is 6 to 7 grand. were would be a good place to get my bottom end forged 383ci and a nitrous setup installed

Jim: Why don't you come up here and we'll discuss a nice package for you. We have two race cars that we're setting up with n2o now for next year to run 7.xx's. I'm sure we could build a real nice kit to put that vette into the 9's for ya

I had a 2 stage DRY controlled by a DFI GEN VI,I never ever had one problem or issue and I put at least 200 bottles threw the car.We ran 60inj. w/the setup and a dual 100 and 100 which was worth 1.5 in ET......(10.50@127 at 3900lbs)

That was in 97 back when half of these LS1tech guys were playing with GI JOE

I would try the new NX dry kit comming out,it looks real promising...
HSW looks to have real nice stuff too,As does ESP,they have some very fast N20 cars...

im sure ttp can set you up. if they are close i would use them, if east side is close i would deffinetly recomend them

i must say tho for proven race N2O set ups, no one can touch east side performance!!
no offence to anyone, but the proof is in the puddin!!! not saying ttp wont do it or cant do it, but east side HAS done it, and more then once!
East side has had there hands in the fastest ls nitrous cars, from 2 of the first 8 sec ls cars, My record holding 346 car was done with tons of there help, now with there help and my new experiance my 8 second ride, and there current record holding 8.2 ls f-body. there is no dening them that they are Nitrous experts!!!

i would highly recomend Nitro daves plate kit. it is so very easy to install and easy to tune in and works great.
id get 860 bottle bracket/heater (it works great and looks great), head mount kit from dave for the noids, purge set up ect.

i have worked with Dave in the past, he is A++++ and makes some real sweet products.

Dean at Dyno tune is great as well.
i can not say anything on his nitrous kits because i have not run one, but the gauges and wide band stuff is GREAT!!

Im the mod on the N2O section here on tech, swing over there. tons of info to help with any nitrous needs!!

i didnt say you could not set it up. i said if your close to ttp go there, if your close to east side, go there.

i seen some of the cars you put out, and feel comfortable saying go to ttp if thats who is close.

not sure you know what cam to use tho. lol your motor cams wont work as good on the spray cars. i have some secret grinds tho if your interested. hehehe

I have a super cheap forged bottom end for sale. can handle anything you'd probably ever want to shoot at it: search my name and you will find it.

Check out HSW for a direct port setup. I love their plate but if your going to spend the money for a forged bottom end then go big with a direct port. One way or the other you cant go wrong with one of their kits.

I would guess it matter's on what you use the car for. Nitrous is nice for track use but can become a pain on the street. Yes Supercharging is expensive but the power all the time for the street is fun.

As for packages I just put a 416ci /Novi 2000 setup together for a Vette and it was close to $20k. Sounds expensive but 800-850rwhp on 93 octain is addictive

buy a 2nd bottle for in between fills.

throw a bottle in it and raise hell.

i run the bottle on my vett and its perfect. vett goes good anyway, then if you run into a race and you need power. press the button. hehe

I just put a Nos 5169 kit on my car, got the kit for 675 brand new, cost me 100 bucks for a Nos purge kit, and about 100 bucks for the wire, good solenoid to engage the kit, and a few hundred bucks for the good fuel pressure and Nos pressure guages I put in with the kit.
