+1...my parents have a garmin nuvi 360(?) i think thats the model, and i just got the nuvi 660 widescreen. They are both fantastic working units, but at times i wish i had the smaller, more compact 360!

you (or they) wont be disappointed with one!

The Garmin girls voice is sooo nice, too.

On long drives I often think about her.. how she always knows where she is.. so exact.

I imagine her in hip-huggers with a belly-button ring.

i have the regular screen. my buddy just got the wide screen. its definitely cool but not something i would pay money for. it just takes up more space on the windsheild. he only got the widescreen cause it was cheaper at the time cause it was on sale.

I like changing the little car in the screen to a truck, and the night mode on the nuvi is awesome!

I've had 3 different Garmin units and they all worked flawlessly. Now I use a GPS 20 Mobile on my Treo...works fantastic. Any Garmin unit uses the same UI and, usually differ in the mapping software. City Navigator is a more complete POI and secondary road setup to the City Select. The cheapie units use City Select and are better suited to address point-to-point than finding the closest Hooters to Atco. Not to say it is not able to, but, you may have less luck getting to happy hour.

My best advice is go with Garmin. They are easy as he** to update the firmware, and, to update the mapping software is cheaper than it's competitors last time I checked (at 75.00 on v8). Get the LEAST expensive unit you can get that has text-to-speech and bluetooth for your phone. Once you have bluetooth you'll never go back.
