Broke into the 10's NA with CARTEK H&C!
Hey Guys, went to Atco today and ran a new personal best NA in my 2002 Camaro.
Broke into the 10’s! 10.877 @ 123.91 with a significant headwind.
This was quite the achievement since my car is set up for N2O.
A huge thanks to CARTEK for giving me the power to get there!
Not much done to the motor really, only Heads & Cam literally!
Stock 241 Heads ported and 3X cam. That’s it and of course a Julio tune.
Stock LS6 Intake (not ported)
Stock 75mm TB (not ported)
Stock rockers, etc….
No electric water pump.
No short belt tricks or anything.
Full weight, all the seats, floor mats, junk in glove box etc….
No light weight batteries
Plus I have 3:73 gears, 1-7/8 headers, cold plugs, etc….
Which is all no good for NA Passes. (but like I said, I am set up for N2O)
Despite the facts above, I went 10’s no problem NA.
Thanks again CARTEK! (Julio, Dave, Roy, Rich, Mike, Tim)

Way to go Steve!
Who knows, maybe without that huge headwind and gusts you might have squeesed out another tenth and a MPH or two.
CONGRATS Bro!
And CONGRATS to CARTEK on yet another H/C car in the 10's Seems almost routine for those guys now doesn't it?

Awesome stuff man, car leaves HARD and ran like a champ all day...and to think that after your rental day plans got screwed up due to weather you almost weren't even going to go to the track yesterday!
Thankfully a little angel suggested otherwise and even got to ride along for the milestone event.
Congrats again to Steve and Cartek Racing.

Thanks guy's it has taken quite a bit of effort,
especially with the minimal mods.
I have to say a lot of the performance is in the details.
You should listen to your tuner if they have a lot experience with a specific combination.
It was not quick & easy to get here, but now it seems so easy?
Julio & Dave definitely know their H&C set ups.
See pictures here: http://www.davemilcarek.com/120107/index_9.htm
It is the silver Camaro. I am on page #1, #4, #7 & #9
Props to Dave Milcarek he took some awesome pictures.
I will try to answer questions in the following posts...

PI Vigilante 4000+ stall?
I am not sure of the stall to be honest.
I had quite a few different converters in the car. (all Vig.)
What happened was, I finally just gave Vig all of my specs and they sent me a converter that they said "would work".
I gave them my displacement, gearing in trans, rear gears, weight of car, RWHP, etc...
Then I got a converter that worked.
Like I hinted at above, leave the decisions to the professionals.
They have usually endured the trails and errors before we got there.
That is part of what you pay for, their experience.

I was going to get my hair cut and hang lights on the tree instead!
I think I made the right decision.

The trans is an RPM 4L60E.
Race weight was about 3470? There was no scale there to check.
My race weight is usually about 3500 lbs.
But I took the full bottle out along with the automatic bottle opener.
So that seems like a good guess?
The DA was good, but there was nobody there with a weather station to check.
According to Aeronautical calculations which are taken approx 50' above the ground it was -1700 DA.
But when you typically compare those calculations to a weather station at the track it is usually off by quite a bit.
Like 700 to 1000 ft. So the DA was between -700 & -1000.
Even though it was pretty cold, the moisture in ppm was pretty high.
Either way, it was great air. But not the best ever.
I am still looking for -3000 air.

Don't insult me like that.
See my post about the air quality above.
Yes, Alex ran too.

I love the air under the tires!
You know, for the track being that empty, we had a lot of LSx cars there.
Quite a variety too...Vettes, Many GTO's, F-bodies....
Even a C4 Vette with an LS1!
Good cars, Good people and Good air....an unbeatable combination!
