thanks Rick! You came out to cecil to help me but the car decided it was going to do the work.
Thanks for all the support along the way. The car is doing exactly what I wanted it to do. The fact that its doing it with a full stock exhaust, mild 207/220 cam, stock intake, and no gear changes is the icing! There's alot left in it for sure....but then that would mean doing the unthinkable.

I would think that it should be safe to say a 9 second quailfying pass will put you in the field. I don't know how the ladder works, but it's also saife to say that anything less then a single digit pass isn't gonna make it past the first round.
Off the top of my head, the legal 9 second cars that will probably show that I can think of:
Firehawk441
tektrans
stealth turbo C5
1984 camaroz28
jl ws-6
I know barry got a 9 second run (congrats) not sure if ya have your lic. and whatnot, if so then add him to the list. That's 6, if fireball runs he's #7, if paul major shows up that's 8 and of course, with him running a 7.3 @ 204 this past weekend it's safe to say he's gonna mop the track with all of us even running partial runs.
I'm sure that there's other 9 second capable/proven cars that could also show up.
Should be the quickest quick 8 field probably since it's inception. Might have to make it a quick 16 next year if the intrest continues to grow

FYI ,Since my car has been dragged into this , I have two muffler set ups for my car , one is a Burns stainless and the other is a Magnaflow , the reason I have two is because I usually do longer cruises in the summer and I don't like the resonance I get with the Burns . I just ran my car on Friday night with the smaller muffler and it wasn't a problem then , nor has it been in the past .
And be forewarned , don't let me catch anyone snooping around underneath my car trying to pull some bullsh*t . A turbo car with a bullet passes Etown noise requirements , an NA car with bullets is significantly louder than a turbo car .

it should not matter if you have no mufflers. if it passes the noise requirement it passes, no matter what.
i wish there wasnt a limmit, i would like to make some of these events

rules are rules. Cars have previously not been allowed to run with bullets that meet the DB requirement. How fair would it be to the people who had to change there setup just to make the race and now let fireball in.

Etown tech prohibited those cars from running. Noise policy clearly prohibits Bullet mufflers, regardless of dB. However, bullets are permitted on turbocharged combinations (since the turbo's turbine is a muffling device) per guidance I received from Etown...

This can be debated all day.....but why?
No one is going to back down here. As well thought out as your posts may be, Fireball, the true definition of a Mod is that of power to edify and/or enforce the rules of a BB/forum....not of a Sponsor's Race. I learned alot from your posts, in fact more than I ever needed to know....but there's no point to trying to make right from irrelevant. All this has done was frustrate, or outright infuriate, the members.....of which you would have locked the thread if it as someone else.
Personally, if there was any question to the validity of the rules, just call or PM the Sponsor. That's what you would tell me right?

i dont know what went on with this, but a sound rate is a sound rate, my opinion on this is that if you meet the max sound you should have no question how you did it, if there is a question how but it still meets the sound it shouldnt matter.
your car cant be faster then 9.0. thats the rule. "X" car runs 9.0 it doesnt matter how "X" car ran 9.0 but it did it. he is fine.
IMO muffler type is stupid and uncalled for sound rating is sound rating, there should be no question. hence the stupid rules of E-Town, and why i dont run there.
PS 100 years ago, i ran my turbo car there.
i was twin turbo, i teched my car with open cut out but it was pretty quite, i ran all day with open cut out, i was under the levle. thats it. i met the sound, no question

When I was there for the pinks allout I couldn't believe how loud some of the cars were, and that was supposed to have the same muffler requirments. Honestly there were some seriously LOUD cars there, and they had mufflers on them just like I did, and that was o.k.
I agree it should be a noise level, but I didn't question it when I built the exhaust this year. I called e-town and asked what to buy, they said any 2 or 3 chamber muffler would be fine. So, two 44 series flowmasters went on the car, not because I wanted to put them on, but because I had to. I've run the car with them on and off thsi year and haven't been able to determine that there is any performance gain/loss with them on or off, I can't see how it would help, but it doesn't seem to be hurting any either.
It's quiet, really quiet IMO. Quieter then the car was when I had just the cam and a LM with a catted Y pipe.
