cool deal..but..why a 305 instead of a 350?, and with that considered..why a th400 instead of a th350 if your only running a 305?
not knocking your choices..just curious why you went those 2 particular directions..or was it just the first 2 things you found?

Not bad looking for an 86! You definetly should do a 350. I did the modified 305 route with a cam, headers, tricked out carb, intake and exhaust and ran a 15.18@92mph only! My daily driver 4 cylinder Cobalt ran a 14.95@96mph! Bone stock! Those cars are heavy and need some cubes to get them moving. Good luck with the project.

Nice. Can't wait to get back on mine. But the GTO needs to be finished first.

Thumbs up

That was a nice score for only $1300.00.
I've always liked the mid '80s Monte SSs.

Ahh such memories I had an 84 Monte SS and with just headers/off road it ran 14.50's and 13.50's on a 100shot.

Good luck with it!
