Ok...........so just what do you mean by "old" school!

I have a 5500 stall FTI in the altered now. I was very pleased with the quality and I got it for just a little over $1,100. which I thought was a good price from them. For a brief time, when the S-10 was on the street, I ran a 10" Neil Chance unit, 3500 stall. I didn't run the street much with it because I got the "itch" to put in on the track and put fender well headers on it.

I appreciate you guys putting up with all of my questions and giving me hints on building this street Camaro. I am truly trying to keep it a street machine, but I want it to be as quick as possible. Here are a few of my toys, past and present. You will see I leaned more towards the track, rather than the street.

Default Forgot I had this!

The wheelie startled me and I stayed on the rev limiter and shifted late!

I looked the info up on my FTI converter and I had ordered it from a "Greg" at FTI. I could contact him to see what they have. I am still trying to figure out heads and a cam for this. I think probably I should decide on them and then give FTI the info on my whole package. Did you get your converter before you did anything to that "stock" engine with the exhaust leak?

still got the s10? that thing is AWESOME! I started with a v8 s10 as well. mine wasn't as wild as yours though. had a moderate 355, th350, 3.73 posi, ladder bars, coil overs, fuel cell. I built it when i was 15-16. truck weighed 2600# and was a hell of a ride. wasn't real good for a first vehicle though lol. I'd like to build another one someday

I've still have it. I sold the motor and trans but everything else is still in good shape. Narrowed ford 9", 4 link, wishbone, anti-roll, etc. I have it in storage now and looking to sell it. In that run, I had a 250 shot on it. It was funny, I just wasnt expecting it to bite so well, I got into the rev limiter and shifted after I could see if I was going in the right direction! I was determined not to get out of it!

Sounds like you are on the right track! And yes Greg is the one to talk to when you are ready. How much you asking for the truck?

I haven't advertised it yet but thought I would put it in Racing Junk for $3,000. It's worth a lot more, but no one has any money. I can be haggled!

I know you had a blast with it, I did mine. I kinda hated parking the S-10 but "I just had to build that Bantam Altered"! You know how it is....gotta go faster!

Do you still run it? I'd like to see it. Let me know if you plan on taking it to LMP.

I happen to know for a fact that beef's in bartow is out of commision for quite awhile. I have been cleaning up their kitchen fire/flood

and Mbaker, I don't have the truck anymore. I sold it after the oil pan pickup tube vibrated loose and fell into the pan. starved the #8 rod bearing of oil and hammered it out, then a crank counterweight picked up the loose pickup tube and threw it through the #1 piston, and a piece of that then lodged in the oil pump and sheard the distributor driveshaft. motor only had about 800 miles on it. I felt so sick that after all that work, that my whole motor was trashed. ended up selling it for $1200. as for yours I would LOVE to have one in that state to throw a crazy ls in. want a 68 c10?
