Im just making sure it's an "ls" based motor.
I looked online,
It's a lq4.
What all should I do to the block?
Do I need to have it acid dipped and replace all bearings, freeze plugs, etc??

honestly i wouldn't touch it unless it shows significant signs of wear. drop the pan and check the rods for any slack or anything, maybe replace any outer seals, new head gaskets with the different heads, a cam and necessary valvetrain and call it it. if it's low mileage, I wouldn't break it apart or do anything more with it than you need to

Can't make it there tonight. It would have been good to see some runs!

kooks and Speed Engineering keep promising me delivery of my pipes. It's been 3-1/2 weeks since I ordered. Next Monday will be 4 weeks. If it doesn't happen by then, I'm cancelling the order. I hate to, ..........I really like the looks of the Kooks headers. Any suggestions on other good stainless headers and ORY?

How about thinking about an install price estimate for headers, ORY and the Magnaflow cat back. Send me a PM when you get the chance.

Good luck at the track!

ebay. I bought mine for $190 SHIPPED and got them in less than a week and they are beautiful. fit great too. then took it to Pitts exhaust shop in auburndale and had them build me a custom y pipe which fits up tighter to the floor than any off-the-shelf one I have seen, for $130. so total I have about $320 in my setup and am very happy with it

Mike I wish I could go out, but I'm tethered to the house on thursday nights because my girl has classes. wanna see some vids of it back in action though!

cooldude: asa cam, ls6 valvesprings, hardened pushrods. done. go to youtube and search asa cam, I promise you will fall in love with the sound, and they are pretty street friendly

pqlal789qreo: we mostly stay in lakeland. I work in bartow though so the black t/a you have seen may have been me. mine has black 18's with a polished lip and truefire airbrushed down the ram air scoops. probably more commonly seen me in my big green Servpro van though lol

Eric:
I searched it
I want something a little more choppy.
I like the cc306 in the lt1's
Anything a little closer to that?
As for hardened push rods, and
Ls6 valvesprings how much will that run me?
Also
Where did you get your input shaft, midplate, and bell housing?
I have to start trying to find em

Does Pitts do Stainless pipes? I figured paying a few more bucks for the Kooks would get the quality and the looks that will last longer. I have seen stainless from China that actually rusts because it has a lot of carbon steel still in it when it's melted down to re-use. I sent an email to Speed Engineering tonight stating that if I didn't have a ship date by Friday at 6 PM, I was canceling the $1,130 order. We will see what happens tomorrow.

looks like you've got me beat by a longshot!

I've got the TSP 1 7/8 headers, they're nice. Started my car this afternoon for the first time in over a month. I had spiderwebs coming off my tires

I just want a really good stainless header that is going to look good two years from now. I'm hunting through the sponsor list again. I want the 1-7/8" and ORY together if I can find it. This truly pisses me off having to go through this again and waiting even longer.

Ya they held, something broke in the rear suspension though. I felt something break then the car was all over the place. But man, I'm soo excited! If I got a 1.5x 60' off a stock v6 sway bar and stock front suspension I cat wait to have qa1's and a drag bar!

But ya I guess readjusting my rear drag shocks, lowering my tq arm and raising my lca's helped!

SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!

I'm putting my jetski up for sale tomorow and buying some more go fast parts

.....Damn! I had a nice post and my page froze up, not retyping it all.

Nope, you got me beat. I think my best is a 6.81 or so. Honestly, haven't even thought about the car in a few months. Tons of overtime and it's finally slowing down. This will be my biggest year ever, no bills other than house and car! I'm suprised i didn't have animals living in my car. No miles on in almost 2 months, no track in almost 5 months.
