Official Polk County thread!
By the time I pay to have all of this stuff installed, I will have to eat tuna sandwiches for the next 6 months!!!
But................I'll have a helluva fun street car!

also you gonna stick with your stock lq9 bottom end? What year is the lq9? If its a 2003 or later it should hold a good amount of power. But i would suggest a set of arp rod bolts.
Hmm, man you have me all excited now. those l92 heads are a 70cc chamber and if you stuck with your stock pistons your be around stock 10.5 to 1 which should be perfect for a big cammed ls3 headed street motor.
Are you wanting to maybe put a small shot on this engine later? Im sure a 150whp shot would be plenty for you and that'll be about all your have in the stock bottom. (which the l92 valves will work better with!!)
Hmm, Which fast did you go with? the 102? with a 90 or 92 mm throttle body? Did they ask what Map sensor you were going to use? The reason im asking is a ls3 uses a bolt in new style map sensor which is compatible with our older computers but they wont be a 100% compare to the original map. The newer g8's had a 6.2 with the new conventional port ls3/l92 style heads and the g8 still kept the older style map. Just curious, if they didnt its no big deal. I actually heard the newer fasts are setup for both maps.
Which size primarys did you get on your headers?
How big of a cam can you stand?
And its gonna be time for a fti4000 stall!!!

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Block is gonna be remachined, and crank returned
Getting my 5.3 heads next weekend.
Then I still have to get the cam, k member, computer, and radiator.
Then I'll be ready
It'll be another 2 months
My goal is at the beginning of the year to be running it
I know from reading/research that it takes at least 500 miles of easy city driving to break a clutch in, before you can start hammering on it.
I still have the complete clutch assembly and flywheel that I pulled when I changed my motor. Its pretty much stock but the price is right. Just come get it.
It looked to be in good shape. Let me know. Bruce
