Blingole - I've got the LS3 intake supposed to be delivered this week. Yesterday I ordered the Fast 92mm TB. I am ordering L92 heads in november. (everything I have seen, they are about the best production heads available. The ones I looked at were to flow 320 CFM at .600" lift. I wanted to stay under $2,000 for the heads, valves, springs, rockers, etc). The exhaust system is on the way, that only leaves me a cam upgrade.

By the time I pay to have all of this stuff installed, I will have to eat tuna sandwiches for the next 6 months!!! But................I'll have a helluva fun street car!

Tell me when your ready for the heads. If I'm not mistaken I got a set of l92 heads assembled for 650ish. Then ifyou got some of those texas speed prc .6xx double springs your still be under 1000. If I remember right the only difference between the l92 vs ls3 are the better exhaust valves, which I don't think your need. Also the arp head bolts are just over 100 bucks. Also I get 10% over cost threw summit since my dealerships a distributor for summit.

As soon as all this stuff starts showing up I'll holler at you! I'll probably be interested in your heads.

I just noticed you mentioned rockers? are you wanting after market or just stock ones?
also you gonna stick with your stock lq9 bottom end? What year is the lq9? If its a 2003 or later it should hold a good amount of power. But i would suggest a set of arp rod bolts.

Hmm, man you have me all excited now. those l92 heads are a 70cc chamber and if you stuck with your stock pistons your be around stock 10.5 to 1 which should be perfect for a big cammed ls3 headed street motor.

Are you wanting to maybe put a small shot on this engine later? Im sure a 150whp shot would be plenty for you and that'll be about all your have in the stock bottom. (which the l92 valves will work better with!!)

Hmm, Which fast did you go with? the 102? with a 90 or 92 mm throttle body? Did they ask what Map sensor you were going to use? The reason im asking is a ls3 uses a bolt in new style map sensor which is compatible with our older computers but they wont be a 100% compare to the original map. The newer g8's had a 6.2 with the new conventional port ls3/l92 style heads and the g8 still kept the older style map. Just curious, if they didnt its no big deal. I actually heard the newer fasts are setup for both maps.

Which size primarys did you get on your headers?
How big of a cam can you stand?
And its gonna be time for a fti4000 stall!!!

Which rockers I use was going to depend on what would work with the L92 heads. I didn't know.

For starters the stock bottom is going to stay. All's I know about the block is that it came out of an escalade. It was installed when I bought the car.

The guy I bought it from said the heads on it were shaved now to make 11:1. That will change with the new heads. It should drop it back to original

After these mods are done, I have to see what shape the trans and rearend are in before I hit it with any N2O. I'm sure they will need some help.

I didn't know enough about the LS stuff to ask about the MAP sensor. I got a stock GM LS3 intake with 42 pound injectors, not the FAST intake. The throttle body is the FAST 92mm.

I can attest wade is good at tranny's, very thorough when he went thru my t56, he rebuilt it to t56 magnum standards, just didnt do the viper tailshaft, wade said it would handle a lot.

Lol I wish
Block is gonna be remachined, and crank returned
Getting my 5.3 heads next weekend.
Then I still have to get the cam, k member, computer, and radiator.
Then I'll be ready
It'll be another 2 months
My goal is at the beginning of the year to be running it

so I have had a major fail. my clutch isn't fully releasing now, even with an adjustable master cylinder. apparently my pressure plate has gone bad and isn't fully disengaging. and from this now it feels like I either bent my 3rd/4th gear shift fork, or trashed the syncros in both. so I will be pulling my trans back out and having it gone throguh and I am in the market for a new pressure plate if anyone has one

I have a stockish PP/kevlar disk from a Zoom kit that if you are interested in I can get it to allen so you can look at it, it came with the 97 t56 I got, it looks like it wasnt broken in right and was slipped..

I know from reading/research that it takes at least 500 miles of easy city driving to break a clutch in, before you can start hammering on it.

Eric,

I still have the complete clutch assembly and flywheel that I pulled when I changed my motor. Its pretty much stock but the price is right. Just come get it. It looked to be in good shape. Let me know.
