There was a really cool 01 black z28 at lakeland Saturday night. He had a stock shortblock ls1 with afr's,cam,lg tubes,fast 90/90,4l80 with a 3800 fti stall, dana 60 rear,prostars,et radials. Very clean car,ran 7.30's all motor. He's coming back out next Saturday too.

Suggestions I just bought this about a month ago. I don't want to do a lot of exterior changes but I would like to "black this out". Meaning, everything black except the wheels. I'm thinking a whistler mod to the lights and the only other color would be changing all of the emblems to red. Any thoughts? Here is what it looks like today with the ZR-1 wheels, which is the only thing I have done so far. Should I do it or leave it the way it is?:

It is in pretty good shape! It is not perfect, though. It has the famous "bubbles" on the roof and right in front of the drivers side mirror there is a paint blemish. I'm very happy with the total package though. Another gentleman on this site has agreed to install my catback system when he gets the chance, and that will help a little until I get the long tube headers purchased. That will get me the chance to see if there are any mechanical things that need fixed or upgraded.
I forgot to mention that the previous owner was 23 and I am sure that he run it hard...........(as I plan to do, on occasion), so I am sure there are things that need attention!

if you want to hear a magnaflow setup you can hear mine if you want. as for the grille, I think that's how it looks if you take that black insert peice that you see now out. may be wrong but that's what it looks like to me
He is correct if you take the stock black insert out it will look like that. I also have a magnaflow cat back and love it. I will have it at the track Saturday night (most likely not running it) if you would like to hear it. But with mine being stock you can barely hear it.
I need 2 tires!! 295-35-18 os 305-30-18!
Anyone know where to get these at a decent price? I am thinking about getting new wheels 17's all the way around because the tires are so much cheaper. Hell I can buy 4 aftermarket 17" Z06 wheels and two tires for the price of two 295-35-18's then sell my O.E. Z06 wheels buy 2 more new tires and still come out ahead.

LOL!! It has Z06 wheels on it and that’s what makes it run a little better!! Then when I put the Convo Pro's on, it thinks it’s a race car. I don’t understand it. And the pic in my avatar has been modified to look like that!!

My black camaro won't do 12's................ I got a red car that will get "real close" though! It's been sitting for a few months. My doctor shut me down and wouldn't sign my NHRA renewal license. Soooooooooo, I thought I would get this camaro and see if I could get it to go over 45 MPH...... I think with a little work, it'll do it! :-)
