uhhhhh i no idea where we were talking about oil pans. But a f-body pan is worth 200-300 dollars. Even though i can get you a brand new one for 250..

What you building? I can get you a kit car pan with the pick up tube, gaskets, dipstick tube, windage tray and mounting hardware for 175..
It fits virtually all v8 rwd chevys from 1955 to 1995

It's just a lq4
Stock bottom end with a built top end
Going in my 95 t/a
I was told the truck oil pans wouldn't fit?
So I was just trying to find one

yes the truck pan wont fit unless if you have a aftermarket tubalar k member. Then the pan just hangs really low. Your best bet would be a f-body pan obvisouly i guess.

I want to send some time and see if that kit car pan is any shorter then a f body pan. Im scared one day if my car came up in a big wheel stand it might hit the pan on the landing.

the 68 in my sig. planning on going 9's, so I gotta put the monkey bars in. the frame has been sandblasted and painted, as well as the suspension. it's sitting as a rolling chassis right now. I gotta patch a hole in the cab floor then it will be ready to go on and get the cage built. I haven't worked on it in montch becasue I have been too busy with getting everything with the t/a right since it's my daily

Sounds like a great project. How much do you figure its going to weigh once you get it done? I was just wondering what HP it will take for that 5.3 to push it into the 9's.

truck should be around the 3100-3200 mark. as far as the 5.3 goes, I plan on just putting in a stock junkyard motor and boosting the hell out of it with the aid of a meth kit. if it blows, I just pick up another one. the motors are cheap, so worst case I'm out $500 for another one. that is, if it doesn't hold. looking at around 15 psi, 530-550 whp (it's a stick, so on't lose as much through drivetrain loss)

Man a 04-up 5.3 with arp rod bolts, arp head bolts,ls9 head gaskets and some good springs would last forever on 15lbs with a good tune. And shoot with a ls6 cam your make 600whp easy

I just put a calculator on it and at 3200#'s it would take about 650 flywheel hp to put it to 9.90 et. That's going to be fun!!!

that's what I'm going to do if i get one that's disassembled. go ahead and put some hardware and head gaskets in, maybe a little cam, and see what it does. I have some catching up to do with a certain black firebird

also i'm picking up Mark's turbo off his rx7. it's a 76 mm, so it should be good for what I need

I think that hood would look fantastic on your firebird.

I have the VFN narrow Sunoco hood on my wish list for after I get the engine done. I like the cowl hood without the center line for my camaro.
