Default ball joins

hey guys on the lower ball joints 2 things do i need to press them out or can i pry em w the fork and 2 this may sound stupid but can u pry em up through the top or do they have to go out the bottom any help would be appreciated cause mine r so bad the car sways back and forth and i can barely keep it straight

They must be pressed out, through the bottom.

out of the a arm or spindle? from the the spindle get a fork and pry from the a arm autozone rents the tool

im pretty sure the lower a arm is the one im talkin about ive changd the uppers already

If you get new Joints go with the MOOG enhanced design lower # 6145T

I tired using a speical GM tool for taking them out. It was a epic failure. The way I got the out was, use a jack stand and support the control arm as far out as possible closest to the lower ball joint. Then I got a 1x1 solid steel rod placed on lower ball joint and hit twice adnthe lower ball joint came out. Then you the speical tool to insert the new one in. It worked wonderful to put them in. Horrbile to take out. The tool looks like a gaint C clamp. It normally cames with a few sleeves as well. If you need any further help just ask.

yeah i can rent the ball joint press from work so the jack stand supporting it helped

Tremendously. Help. The farther you get the jack stand towards the ball joint the less deflection will happen, meaning more force to drive out the ball joint.
