Default C5 Corvette or 2005 GTO

I'm planning to buy my next car around Feb. or so if things go right so let me ask y'all if you had the choice, and were a drag racer, would you choose a 05 GTO (W/6.0L) or C5 Corvette? And why? Keep in mind that no matter which one, it will have an Automatic trans.

Both are amazing cars in there own way it really boils down to what you need to use it for are there any chance's of you needing it for kids?I love the vette but im more of a GTO guy for when things like road trips and when friends want to tag along.Either way you go there both going to cost alot to make faster and alot of vette guys are to stuck up and GTO guys are more down to earth, which are you?

C5 A4 hands down. Have a "bracket tune" put on it & it will run more consistant than anything, plus get 30 MPG driving to different events.

Yes, the C5 not only is lighter, faster, sexier and more Bullet Proof, it's IRS allows for more consistant 60 ft's, resale value.... and also doesn't spontaneously combust (as has been written about on this Forum at times)

I raced with a bunch of Corvette guys in the Challenge Series at Moroso / PBIR for 2 year's.
(sometimes 40+ Vette's alone would show, and most were C4 & C5 & C6's.... Nothing stuck up about any of them.)

I'm defnitely attracted to the Corvette's looks. However I also like the prospects of a GTO as a sleeper. If you don't know what a GTO is then, to the average eye it looks like a regular coupe. Ultimate sleeper.

With the exception of a bracket tune, the cars will remain stock or however they come when I buy them until I pay off the loan I'm going to have to take out. (I'm waiting until Feb so I have a massive downpayment saved up)

It all is a moot-point if I get a amazing deal on a 02 CETA. But I keep telling myself I want to get out of F-bodies. However the prices right now are amazing!

I was actually having a little debate about this as well since I was looking for a new car. Only difference being I was looking at GTOs, C5Zs and some older C6s.

If I could afford I would definitely buy a C6. There would be no debate

Corvette:
advantages - faster, lighter
disadvantages - lowered than GTO, limited storage space, 2 seats

GTO:
advantages - 4 seats, trunk, more storage space, interior kicks ***!
disadvantages - MUCH heavier than the vette (slower)
