Default Relocating to gulf coast Suggestions

My family and I are looking to relocate when we exit the Army this year. Should be right around August. We are looking for a town somewhere in-between Sarasota and Spring Hill. Not looking to head much further South as we want to stay closer to Family (Spring Hill). But what would be some good towns to check out and look to live in? I have two daughters 5 & 2 and my wife and I are both 26. We are taking a trip at the end of June and are trying to put together some sort of game plan. Would like to stay within 30 min of the Gulf and if possible not live on top of my neighbors. They don't like hearing open exhaust and turbo noises at Midnight Also, how is the Car scene in the area? Mexico? Any tracks close by? Appreciate all the help as I can always find good people on here.

Sounds like Bradenton might be your best bet

Great track there

most of the car scene seems to up in the tampa area, but look around on facebook for the 'area code' car pages.

I'll agree with this^^ I'm in Ft. Myers (nice place) but go to Brandenton Motorsports Park to play!

thanks for the replies! well that's a plus that the larger part of the car scene is in Tampa. Id like to eventually get a nice sized boat and head out in the gulf to go fishing. But racecars are life! Id like to get a little bit larger piece of property. something I can at least put building on for all the toys and builds that I do. But its all wishful thinking. I build a ton of cars for people here in NC and hope to do some work when I relocate. City life really isn't my thing. But atleast be within 15 min of some more built up areas. Also would Like to have a little privacy and a good area for my daughters to grow up in. Yea its a laundry list of stuff to take in. Completely overwhelmed with it all honestly as I have never spent more than a week or two at a time anywhere in Florida

I hope that you have a good bit of money saved up

If you want property, seems the going rate is 20 - 25k an acre around here.

I'd imagine the closer you are to a real city and the water for that matter the price goes up exponetially.

Get on zillow and start your research now

good luck with the move!

Sounds like you need to move into my neighborhood. I have 2.5 ac. with a 40' x 60' shop. I am 15 minutes from my office, boat ramp, airport, bass pro, lol, those are the only places I frequent.

Find a place that will bring the job and income that youre looking for. Then find an area that you would like to live in. Strike up conversation with locals on where to be and not to go, they'll tell you. You really need to spend time where ever you go for a while because what seems like "the place to be" is living hell. You have 2 young kids and it revolves around them. Always lived in Florida but, the last time I moved, I was able to live in my RV for several months(just an example on how to spend time in an area before leasing or buying) in an RV park before getting into a house. Best thing I've ever done.

I live in crystal river, 30 minutes north of spring Hill. The boating up here is amazing, a decent little bit for the car stuff but most big get togethers are further south.
I have 5 acres, a 30x35 ship, in ground pool, block 3 bed home built in 1993 and I paid $110k. I enjoy the area
