Default Found a 98 trans am in Tampa

Hey i was looking for a 98-99 trans am on cars.com and came across a 98 black m6 trans am that i thought had a good price for the mileage and age. The car is $10,588 with 48,916 miles. I was wondering if that would be a good deal in florida or is it a lilttle high or low for the normal price. Everybody is telling me between 12k-13k is about right for a 99 so i was wondering about a 98 in florida. Thanks for any help. The car im talking about is at 98 trans am I hope this works because the last time i did a url, it didn't work.

it looks good to me, i am not to familiar on prices but that seems like a good price for as good as the car looks! but i did just do a kbb (kelly blue book) value on the car and it said $12,000! here is the link
http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.u...rebird&7;PO;C3
i say go for it! has a good monthly payment as well

i was thinking the same thing but just wanted to check with some people who actually live in florida and would know the prices of cars better than me. Everytime i bring up the subject of getting a trans am, my mom keeps bitching to me about the insurance. If I'm going to be paying on the car and insurance, i might as well get the car i really want.

I paid less for mine in central Florida, but after looking for a couple years, seriously for the last year, I would not have purchased my car unless it was a great deal. I agree with 68bird (and not just because my first Pontiac was a '68 'bird) that if you pay less for it than KBB says it's worth, then it's a good deal.

Wow, better move fast. My buddy was supposed to buy that very same exact car last weekend. Not sure if he did or not, can't get a hold of him. Great deal, a friend of mine bought a 2000 T/A from that same dealer a couple months ago. Great guys to work with...especially if you're a teenager, they'll work w/ you.

Small world. I just called them today to ask if they could ship it if i bought the car from them, and they never called me back. I'm gonna call them tomorrow and tell them i can get a place to ship it and see if they even have the car still. Tell your friend hes got a couple of days at the most to get it before i can get my hands on it. lol Tell him to test drive it even if hes not going to get it, because there's no way i can do it and i want to know how it drives and if the clutch is slipping or any type of problem like that.

^^He had a change of heart as to what he wanted to do. Decided to just buy a LS1 motor/T56 tranny and swap it into his third gen. 777, what exactly are you looking for? Already modded? Stock? Z? T/A? And you already said you wanted a M6 in your above post. Let me know, I might be able to help.

That was a sweet car, sorry you didn't get it. Sellers must not have been very anxious to sell if they didn't return your call.

no its ok, i just found a 2000 red trans am m6 for sale like 10 min from my house so im waiting for a response back on it. Its posted on ebay, thats how i found it. The reserve price is a little too high for the car i think, but hopefully i could get them to move it down to my price range. I dont like going through ebay or i would have bid on it already, since their were no bids on it yet.

98-02 Trans Am for less than 13k...if it is a ws6 less than 15k...less than 50,000 miles...must be either black, pewter, and if it is a crazy deal i'll take blue...the car needs to be as close to stock as possible...m-6, black or tan leather int., i appreciate your help in a big way...but i think it will be harder for you to find something that cheap...my dad has connections through his dealership with being able to go to auctions and what not (he just started looking around a couple months ago since he really didn't want me to have one, but now he has changed his mind )...to be honest i really don't know how he missed that t/a in tampa...but oh well i guess it wasn't meant to be...i found a 2002 z28 m-6 with 24,000 miles on it...i'm going to look at it tomorrow...it is prolly already sold but if it is not i'm going to buy it...then turn around and sell it for 18-20k...that'll give me a little more modding money to buy the trans am...plus leave me with a sweet car to drive around in the mean time instead of my 98` v6 auto...so i sure hope all goes well...i'm going to hillsboro to check out there stuff...hopefulyl i'll come up with something...if not looks like i'll still be waiting...but it's ok...i've calmed down a little... i just get really pissed when something is soo close and then it's gone...i'm sure everyone knows how i feel...

i definetly know how you feel, i would already have my dream car if it wasn't for stupid credit, i only had my mom to co sign for me and she got denied. If i had the person to co sign for me now, then i would have definetly got the car. I can't help that im only 19 and dont have credit, they said credit cards only take affect when you've had them for 2 years, and you need like 4 of them to build up enough credit to be able to sign for a car.

I was in the same position as you guys back in Feb: Had enough cash for a ls1 f-body but couldn't find one. Ebay, ebay, ebay everyday for like a month and then boom:

Modded 98 M6 Formula for $9975 buy it now. Dealer only sold Euro luxo cars and didn't even know the Formula was modded. Keep searching guys, it'll come up.
