The Supra guys know how to put togerher a weekend. Fri night track then food/beers after then Sat Dyno and they go racing that night.
A meet at the track then to somewhere after for beer/food would be a fun themed meet. A 1 dayer. Maybe in the future it can catch on.

If you rent the place it gets pretty good attention to the hook department. A rental may be another function for another time as it may be easier just to get us all in a parking lot first.

I tried organizing a track rental like a year ago, what a pain in the azz. No one could agree upon a date , much less which track to use. Then trying to get people to pay money upfront, forgeddaboudit!

It cost about 2-3grand to rent a track.

Both the Tampa guys and the PBfbody crowd have the track rentals figured out quite well. But as I said, maybe we should just start small and meet in a lot. Tends to be more time to mingle and check out cars in that arena.

agreed with next. for many of us racing is about business (not literally) but how we approach it. when i go to the track i am not mingling much. lets do a meet and greet sorta thing. that way it really isnt much of a commitment for most and doesnt have to take up an entire weekend or whatever. we can do it in a lot, regular car show type deal, or i bet we could convince one of the sponsers (RX, NLP, or Vinci) to let us hang out and maybe do a BBQ dyno day sorta thing! i know i could get us some time and a place at RX in tampa.

Eric and John, I think you both nailed the idea. Race days are great, but mingle doesn't come to mind much b/c I'm making laps! I'd be up for either a neutral location or a shop meet/dyno/food deal as well.

also, if anyone is serious i can have it on a saturday at RX. they have plenty of parking and its just off I275 sorta near I4. very easy to find, as it is on a major road in brandon, florida. just give me a date and i can work it out. owner is a good friend of mine.
