10 point cage, certified by NHRA official, as well as licensed driver.

tig welding is the only legal way to do it. you have a tig welder? and do you want to risk the cage with your skils? i have no idea of your experience.

Gator i thought if you get mild steel you can mig weld a cage. The whole reason i was getting a mild steel cage was so i can MIG weld it. Chromoly i thought you have to TIG weld!

Depends on how strict the track is. a 6-point bar will keep you legal to 10.00. Hit a single digit pass in Gainesville and they'll show you the gate. Not sure how the other tracks in the surrounding areasare, but I hear certain ones let stuff slide

Upgrading from a 6-point bar to a cage is easy. Just add in the halo, front down bars and you're done!

personally I'd get myself a NHRA rule book so you know all the rules. I know your tubing is going to be larger on a 6pt than if you went with a 10pt cage

Same size no matter bar or cage to 8.50 e.t.

CM tubing uses a different size than mild steel tubing, but that's not related to a bar to cage difference.
