I had Pacesetters & TSP TD's with bullets on my old set up... never got a ticket. I also drove around with an open cut out most of the time before the TD's.
I'm sure there are laws, and if you were caught screwing around... the officer could write you a ticket for that as well just to add to the list. I hear some of the motorcylces around here and wonder how they could consider any car to be "too loud."
Just my $0.10

i have dumped true duals, so the car's loud as hell.... never been hassled about it. even the cops I know say it sounds good... as long as you don't do stupid ****, you probably won't get in trouble for it.

yes there are, but i dont know the specifics. a friend of mine
joshsws6 got one here in nassau county. it read "illegal exhaust"
and "too loud". his lawyer managed to get it thrown out. but not
without costing him a pretty penny.

i have never seen a person get a ticket for loud exhaust unless they were hammering the car or doing burnouts. unless you are running around with open headers, i wouldnt worry about it.
use your head. i am sure there are laws but cops are not enforcing them. they are enforcing street racing and speeding.

My friend got one for modified exhaust the other day in his vette. the cop was also a rookie dick. and even crazier, a lot of us know the cop, he use to own a clean 3rd gen and now owns a vette.
Hopefully my friend files charges, the cop yanked him out of the car, handcuffed him, put him on the curb saying he 'revved' mind you its a fully built Vette with LG LTs and Borla Stinger. Moved him to the grass and went through his car to get his registration and lisence. Then gave him the modified exhaust and address on lisence BS ticket

hmm shoulda posted in here earlier.....theres no specific state law against "exhaust noise"....however there are several statues involving exhaust...such as things like smell and fumes.....several cities down south my also have oridinance's involving exhaust noise but youll need to look into that, its up to the city to actually have an enforce those laws....but if your goin to have a loud exhaust and push it hard, thats going to draw attention to your car, which can result in other charges....

Thanks guys. I don't push it hard on the street and cops usually drive by when I'm at a light. The only time I push it hard is at the track. Some old lady where I'm at, complained that the car is rediculous. I just thought to myself that my car is quiet compared to some others that I've seen and heard.

I have a cammed, No cat, LT Headers, and Borla Exhaust and I haven't gotten any trouble from it( except maybe pissing off people in the morning). My friend with a Neon( No cat, headers) got a ticket for his car being to loud. I guess the cops assume since my engine is big, it's going to be loud.
